For what it's worth, since I'm getting qs about it: Kemp tells me has absolutely zero interest in the chancellor gig.
"I have one job right now, besides my role as governor, and that's electing Derek Dooley to the U.S. Senate." #gapol
Former Gov. Sonny Perdue, the first Republican governor of Georgia since Reconstruction, just announced that he is retiring from his role as chancellor of the state’s higher education system. #gapol

After four decades in public service, Sonny Perdue is hanging it up. He's retiring as Chancellor of the @BORUSG, staying until January as the board searches for a successor.
"I'm not very good at rocking on the porch, so I'm sure something will keep my attention," he told me.
Perdue will turn 80 in December, but he's still spry. "I don't even have sore muscles nor joints," he said.
He joined the state senate in 1991 before becoming gov and US Ag Sec. After 40 years in public service, he wants to spend more time with his wife.

I'm seeing some speculation in the comments that this video is AI. So it's worth noting that a statement from Morris Brown doesn't dispute its authenticity.
But MB did say the video is "limited in context and edited."
When I texted James about vid last week, he didn't respond.
He's back.
A week after surprise termination, Morris Brown College has reinstated its president.
Press release says his firing didn't comply with his employment agreement. Also alludes to "broader concerns" about workplace culture. Says MB will seek to restore transparency.
"Do not feel sorry for immigrant communities as if this does not touch you. If they can show up in an apartment building and begin to zip-tie children, and separate children. If they can stop you and ask you to prove that you belong, all of us are in peril," said Warnock.

Have you heard of the CLT? Born out of the classical-education movement, the GOP-backed college entrance exam could soon come to a school near you.

International student enrollment had been growing substantially in Georgia in recent years, rising by at least 1,200 each fall.
But this semester, just 295 more enrolled. The slowdown could be a sign that Trump's policies are turning them away from US.

At Georgia Tech, a candlelight vigil for Charlie Kirk. One of at least three memorials planned at Georgia colleges this week.
Kirk profoundly impacted them. “He saw a spark in us that we couldn’t even see in ourselves.”

BREAKING: Emory will be discontinuing its DEI programs and offices, a response to "federal laws and mandates."
"The standards are clear, and we must act accordingly," interim president Leah Ward Sears wrote to the Emory community.
Emory had embraced diversity efforts, winning multiple national awards.
An institutional statement called diversity, "essential to advancing knowledge, addressing society’s most pressing issues, and attending to the full spectrum of human needs in service to the common good."
Following some other GOP controlled states, Georgia will require public colleges make all course syllabi public. GA says it's to increase transparency for students/parents.
But some experts think it'll lead to harassment of professors and could influence what they teach.
Per @TheFIREorg, giving access to the full public instead of just students/parents could make faculty self-censor: "perhaps not putting on their syllabi the kind of information that would trigger outrage mobs or would trigger calls for termination.”

Mayor Dickens says no civilians shot. Windows of CDC building were struck by bullets.
92 children in nearby daycare (Clifton School) are safe. They will be reunited with their parents soon.
Believe it was single shooter. Shooter is dead. not clear if shot by officers or self
