The world changed when the internet allowed people from everywhere to talk work collaborate and share information with each other instantly. The next seismic shift is AIs doing the same - but with each other. It’s actually truly mind blowing to imagine what that means

People think internal resistance to action goes away after a while but it doesn’t - you will always have a fresh resistance dragon to slay daily.

I did this that’s why I have no sense of missing out when I’m now working 20 hours a day for the last decade. I know people say get rich when you’re young but it’s also the best time for actually living life
At 67, here's one piece of advice I'd give anyone under 30: Travel as much as you can while you're young. 🌍 You don't need to be rich. Fly economy. Stay in hostels. Take overnight trains. Backpack across borders. Sleep on a friend's couch. Eat street food. Get lost in places where nobody speaks your language. Leave your comfort zone and experience the world beyond the one you've always known. Dance with locals. Try unfamiliar foods. Listen to cathedral bells echo through ancient streets and hear the call to prayer drift across a crowded city. Walk through little alleyways, share meals with strangers, and make friends with people whose lives look nothing like yours. Learn how other cultures think, love, work, celebrate, and survive. Discover that people can speak different languages, follow different traditions, and believe different things while still sharing the same hopes, fears, and dreams. The world is much bigger than your hometown, your social circle, or what you see on a screen. Travel won't just give you beautiful photographs and unforgettable stories. It'll challenge your assumptions, humble you, broaden your perspective, and teach you to appreciate things you once took for granted. Don't spend your entire youth waiting until you have more money, a better job, or the perfect time. You can always earn more money, but you can't buy back the years you spent being afraid to explore. Go see the world. Meet its people. Embrace its differences. And when you return home, bring back more than souvenirs. Bring back a wider perspective, a more open heart, and a deeper understanding of humanity. The best thing travel can give you isn't a passport full of stamps. It's a mind that has expanded and a heart that has learned to see the world differently. ❤️🌎

Rewatching the wire so many good lines ‘The game done changed.’ Nah - the game is still the game, just got fiercer.’ Yes indeed. The times we are living in

I need someone to work on headphones you can wear while swimming

Saying everyone will build in-house because software is easier to build is like saying everyone will cut their own grass just because lawnmowers exist. People don’t do something even though they technically can for many reasons. Other examples of this abound

Everyone’s saying software is dead. When everything can be reverse engineered here is why I am not bothered about it. Because business is and always will be business. You could always just rip off and copy another business - now it’s just faster and easier. But that doesn’t make it easier to succeed as a business.

Also it’s not dead because people are also buying your investment in excellence through constant compounding r&d, specialism in solving a particular problem, maintainence of it, and also the passing off of the risk which they may not be wanting to fully own.

Everything in your world is designed to keep you in place - the status quo has its own inertia - it takes great force to break through it

Jealousy is literally someone diverting energy from their own betterment to a pointless and toxic addiction. Because jealousy can become an addictive substance if left to perpetuate

Cynical people view the world and other people cynically. People see the world as they are - we all project our worldview and view everything through that lens. Thats why there’s no point trying to convince someone of something they have no frame of reference to believe in

Giving to get some 1-1 mapped benefit in return is the lowest form of relationship building and why if you approach life or business this way you will only attract other people who view things in a similarly transactional way. And that is soul destroying

We live in a cynical world where even good deeds are viewed on with suspicion. But not everyone who is willing to give their time, money, kindness, smiles is doing it for some hope of a future benefit. It just feels good to give sometimes. And some people are just inclined to generosity rather than viewing everything as trade or act of manipulation.

The second half of the Eminem 8 mile rap is when, after he weaponises his own perceived ‘disadvantages’ to disarm his opponent, he then says - ok now let’s talk about YOU. And the other guy is like 😩

If you’ve watched the pursuit of happyness you’ll remember the last scene when WS gets the job. Someone said to me the films depressing because he only gets 2 seconds of happiness in a 2 hour film 😭😭😭 but my take was those 2 seconds make the rest of the pain in the other two hours worth it. Thats how entrepreneurs think

If you already say everything there is to say about yourself before anyone else can, they become totally disarmed. Eminem in 8 mile style. Yes I am a woman, non-technical (I suppose although increasingly maybe not), bootstrapped, solo, in a space with competitors (yeah so does every startup) Yeah and? I’ll wait.
