25 years of impact, and I’m living proof.
I’ve grown with @NyakaGlobal from classrooms to offices and bigger dreams. What started as support became transformation.
Proud to be part of a community that turns hope into real change. 💛 #NyakaAt25Years

With a heart weighed down by grief, I announce the passing of my dear mother, Rose Nantongo Kirabo.
There are losses for which language offers no refuge. Today, I have lost the woman whose love gave me my first understanding of life.
My deepest gratitude goes to the dedicated doctors and medical team at the Uganda Cancer Institute for the compassion, dignity and care extended to Mama in her final days.
Funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.
Wwumula Mama. Wwumula mukwano gwange. 🕊️❤️

A skin disease like scabies can have serious consequences for endangered mountain gorillas. When people and gorillas live in close proximity, human health and wildlife health are deeply connected. This is why we champion a #OneHealth approach; protecting people helps protect gorillas #WalkingWithGorillas

Ask yourself; How much good can I do today? Don't focus on how to get where they are. Truly, the situations are different. And even if they were the same, the odds, the ultimate path, the will of God are not alike.

Yesterday, a random person reached out to me on X (Twitter) and told me he had an investment opportunity for me from the Netherlands.
Today, together with our Admin, Linda, we scheduled our first meeting and later proceeded with the meeting involving our Netherlands connection.
What excites me most is seeing how many investors are interested in investing in Uganda but lack the right information, connections, and guidance to understand the opportunities available.
During our discussions, I presented investment opportunities along the River Nile, Lake Victoria, Murchison Falls, and Bwindi.
Uganda has so much to offer, and sometimes all it takes is the right conversation to open doors to something big.
I am proud to play my part in connecting investors to opportunities in our beautiful country. I can’t wait to see what comes out of these engagements!

The #fallseason: It might appear dirty and destructive, yet it's absolutely fundamental for resilient growth.
My morning walk trail perfectly illustrated this; the mass shedding of leaves could make you think the forest is finished, but surprisingly, it's the start of a fresh blooming season. And fall season is a crucial stage.
We as humans also need this exercise—we ought to shed some weight so we can fly easily. So, what are you shedding off before the year ends?

When you care for people, they start to care for wildlife. This was one of the reflections I shared at the Djolifon Conference 2026, where I had the privilege of joining fellow panelists Dr. HamzaHamouchene and DomiSanji, in a conversation moderated by MolemoMoiloa, on “Resistance of the Commons: Rethinking, Reviving, and Reclaiming the Commons in the Age of Predatory and Extractive International Relations.”
Over the past 30 years of working with mountain gorillas, I have seen conservation becoming stronger when the communities living alongside wildlife are part of the solution.
At @CTPHuganda, we currently engage 630 #coffee farmers, including 230 women. Through initiatives such as @GCCoffee1, we connect livelihoods with conservation and create opportunities for communities to benefit from protecting their environment.
Tourism can also play an important role. When visitors buy local crafts, hire community guides, support local businesses and contribute to community initiatives, they help ensure that conservation creates tangible benefits for the people living around protected areas.
Our #OneHealth approach through Village Health and Conservation Teams enables communities to take the lead. The people living in these villages understand their challenges best, and they should have a voice in developing the solutions.
The near doubling of mountain gorilla numbers over the decades is something we are incredibly proud to have contributed to, alongside local communities, the Government of Uganda, NGOs, researchers and the tourism sector.
The lesson for me is simple: we cannot protect nature without caring for the people who depend on it. The commons belong to all of us, and protecting them requires all of us to work together.

Finally, the long-awaited portrait with President @BillClinton is here!
And I'm here trying to figure out the best way to save it so the algorithm doesn't hide it deep down, making it hard to find.
My President Bill Clinton story, and how he endorsed my books, has been on this wall many times. And I wang to guess old followers might have even thought about asking me to let the story go. But since I'm sharing this first, please let me have my "three minutes of fame" in peace! Or maybe this feeling is a lesson for me to share with you, the reader: always be welcoming and kind to people. You really don't know how important you might be to them.
The initial plan was to share the picture, but at least the process gave us a good nuggets to work with going foward.

Be welcoming to everyone, because the quiet admiration of others often stems from the positive impact you have, even on those you never get to hear express it.

What an incredible week celebrating AFRICA: Earth's Wild Home! Still overwhelmed after watching some of the incredible footage of #wildlife with heartwarming narration on the big screen last week at the Bafta Theater in London.
It was lovely to reconnect with my mentor Dr @SylviaEarle along with other National Geographic Explorers from Africa, who are also featured in the series, including @CEmogor, and Dominique Goncalves.
It was truly special to introduce Jane-Marie Franklyn who filmed our work 30 years ago for BBC1 and National Geographic to Sarah Hammond who filmed our work for this series which used historical footage from 1997! We were joined by @CTPHuganda Board Member Kevin James.
From scabies outbreaks threatening our mountain gorillas, to seeing communities and gorillas thrive through improving their health to gorilla-friendly coffee where every bag gives back.
Huge thank you to @NatGeo and @ROLEX who made the series possible and support our work; and to award winning narrator and executive producer Wunmi Mosaku, Showrunner, BBC Studios Natural History Unit @gavinmboyland, my fellow Rolex National Geographic Perpetual Planet Explorer @drSteveboyes, and our brilliant moderator @angellicabell.

Perhaps the real destroyer isn't the event, but rather the unwillingness to forgive (ourselves or others), or the failure to cultivate gratitude for the present, that keeps happiness at bay ... Good morning ☀️

Stop measuring your life using other people’s rulers. It’s okay to be 30 & not know what you’re doing with your life. Some people figure life out at 18, others at 28, some at 35, others at 48, some at 60.
Everybody has their journey.
It’s okay go be 30 & start all over from scratch. It’s okay to be 40 & choose to move back to your parents’ house coz life has become impossible. It’s okay to be 50 and want to go back to school.
Let no one tell you otherwise.
Once you start to live YOUR life using YOUR ruler, peace of mind comes to you because you stop living for the world and you start living for You!
The moment you stop comparing yourself with others, you are instantly freed from the pressure of measuring up & living a life that’s a lie.
Social media will expose you to people who seem to be ahead of you yet you started life’s journey together. You’re not behind, beloved, you’re simply measuring your life using someone else’s ruler. And that ruler has units of measurement that are not meant for you.
Wake up, throw away that ruler, and pick up one that’s meant for you!
Take that vacation, learn that skill, quit that job, dump that demon of a partner, chase that thrill, enjoy that fling, start that business, adopt that pet, start that new career - do whatever your heart desires.
Tomorrow when you appear before St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, he’ll ask you the question- “Did you do the things you wanted to do in life?” You’ll smile & say “Absolutely! I’m now ready for hell!”
And you’ll say it with a smile. 😊

One of the best brains that have emerged out of the wonderful Switzerland of Uganda a.k.a Kigezi is Dr. #PeterNgategize. He has served this country with one singular heart of #Obedience* and has authored a book titled #Obedience and two more including one called #Emigane as told by his mother. All he has done is decode his mother's riddles, tales and folklore. Dr. Ngategize has left mainstream government service and put on new tyres and so he is fully #retyred* to serve his community with as much energy as it were when he first joined public service.
It is this and much more that we will be discussing when #NAALYABOOKCLUB hosts him on Saturday 31st October, 2026 from 3pm to 7pm. We will have a bon fire after 7pm, to continue with the conversation. I strongly advise that you block the date. In fact, turn it red on your calendars. There is so much more from him than just the books. He is a C-suite executive having served as Board Chair of @CentenaryBank and the World Bank project lead in Uganda on Competitiveness in the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development of the Republic of Uganda. He is into farming and tourism. And you think he is of 'everyday?' – at Kampala, Uganda
