I've been using it for a couple of weeks (I guess I discovered it out of necessity, before the announcement). A few more things I've been tinkering with, in addition to cross-chat messages: - Starting "child" chats, and having a naming convention for the "siblings" and "grand-children" chats. - Parent chats can explore opportunities for things you can automate or create skills for, from the child chats. - Siblings can learn from each other
New in Claude Code: your sessions can now message each other. Instead of having to re-explain yourself in another session, you can now tell Claude to do it. It sends a summary (not your history or files), and the other session picks it up mid-task.

A few hours to go, Halifax! Cursor for Everyone, 6-8pm at Volta, 1800 Argyle St. What's new in Cursor, live demos from AI engineers on how they actually use it, and a room of builders from the city. Beginners welcome. A few spots left: luma.com/cursor-halifax

It's about time most SaaS companies add a comparison page, comparing their product vs a vibe coded in-house product, in addition to the competitor-comparison pages. The cost of maintaining, debugging, distracting from the core business (as a % of revenue) etc. could be accounted for. While positive initially, a lot of them would find it to be net negative ROI to build that tool internally. So, very much agree. At least as of now.
Have believed this for a while now. Vibe coding a tool seems cheaper than the buying the tools you use everyday. But when you factor in maintenance cost and the opportunity cost of having expensive labour build something that’s not core to the business, it actually is more expensive over time.

Banger indeed. But on the flip side, you can make it easier. "The normal behavior of the tribe often overpowers the desired behavior of the individual." - James Clear Choose your environment carefully. Else you're playing life on extra hard-mode for no reason.
"The world is not designed to give you a good life. It's designed to distract you from building one." Real banger by @MattyFusaro Put on blinders and build.

Never miss a sunset. Or ocean. Even if they reset Fable's weekly limits.

Babies know this instinctively. Such an imp piece!
Laughter is anti-inflammatory. Crying is regulating. Hugging is immunoprotective. Singing is vagal toning. Dancing is neurogenic. Joy is a biological necessity.

How long before Claude builds and launches its new features all by itself... and Anthropic employees become one of us - learning about new features just like everyone else here.

Or... agent-pill your family/friends, build shit together, and then be more present with them than you've ever been
agents give you a choice: you can be more present with family/friends or less. more and more people are going in the wrong direction tho...

Claude power users tonight...
Today, we’re releasing a feature that allows Claude to control your computer: Mouse, keyboard, and screen, giving it the ability to use any app. I believe this is especially useful if used with Dispatch, which allows you to remotely control Claude on your computer while you’re away.

Been at it, in the same spirit, since last year. Could carve out more old books time though I feel
My information consumption is now 1/4 X, 1/4 podcast interviews of the smartest practitioners, 1/4 talking to the leading AI models, and 1/4 reading old books. The opportunity cost of anything else is far too high, and rising daily.

Love Balaji, but... AI will be great at initiation too. Give AI agents 1,000 year goals and they'll start all the initiatives, and the subsequent tiny *initiatives*, for 1000 years, in pursuit of those goals. The number could easily be 10 million years. They just need enough compute and electricity. (The first initiation will be by humans, sure; but it could easily be their version of The Big Bang.)
Replying to @shaunmmaguire
Thesis: we have to redefine what humans are good at: initiation vs execution vs verification. AIs can’t do initiation. They’re superhuman at execution. And they can’t (yet?) do verification. Now, persistence over time is still quite important. For whatever reason, as great as these tools are, they are still always slightly off from what you really want and require a lot of coaxing to get them to land exactly on the final result. Nevertheless, it may turn out that in the age of AI the timeless maxim of Silicon Valley is ultimately overturned. Namely: it’s not the execution, it’s the idea.

Sometimes I wish Steve Jobs or @naval was one of the main characters in the AI acceleration story that's being written. It's like the world's chugging one RedBull after another. Needs some L-Theanine, at minimum.
