Update: it turns out it was, in fact, marriage

I'm a United fan from India, been a fan longer than most United fans in Manchester have been alive. So f*** you Scott. You're a racist c***. And you'll be disowned by United fans once they unmask you for being the racist c*** you are.

Met Bengaluru Breakfast final boss: Bengaluru Cafe. Not only is it standing service, there's no table either! Of course I didn't eat anything in protest. Mom enjoyed the dosas and Vadas. The bald gentleman in black polo is the Manager. Lovely fellow. 5 star for him.

Sorry to interrupt your Sunday, friends. I really hesitated to write this, but if I don’t speak up today, I will be facing a severe financial crisis within a week or two. To be clear, I am not asking for charity or financial help. I am asking for work. I have been completely without work for the last three months. My last project ended on June 30th, and since then I have knocked on every door I know—calling, texting, meeting contacts, and following up. People say they will try, but after that first talk, the silence takes over. Calls go unanswered or get cut after a couple of rings. I honestly don't know whether the industry is shifting because of AI or if my age (52) is working against me, but despite over 13 years of solid experience in the field, nothing has materialized. Now, my savings are down to the very end. I can barely hold out for another week or two. I am a professional content writer, translator, and speaker who is comfortable on stage and in front of the camera. I write and translate fluently across Gujarati, Hindi, and English, with Gujarati being my strongest suit. Many of you already know my grasp of politics and my political writing, but I am equally adept at covering Bollywood and cricket. My priority is media houses, digital platforms, or publications, but I am open to any genuine writing or translation opportunity. I can work remotely or take up assignments on-site anywhere in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, as I need to be close to my elderly mother to take care of her health. Because my situation is urgent, I am especially looking for quick-turnaround freelance assignments or immediate projects where payments can be settled on submission. If you or anyone in your circle has work, please reach out to me directly in my DMs. A humble, earnest request: while I deeply value your warmth, please refrain from sending just "best wishes" or "stay strong" messages right now. I am fighting hard to stay out of a very dark headspace, and right now, only actual work leads can pull me through. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for your support. My inbox is open. 🙏

Your profile bio indicates nothing about your opinion on the matter. Weird.
This is ridiculous. I'm a City fan but we have to get some perspective: nobody wants businesses to close, people to lose their jobs. It's a game. Dock us 40 points. Freeze transfers. Fine us a few hundred million. Then move on (if the appeal fails of course).

Many examples of Sir Alex Ferguson's genius but if we're to boil it down to money (because, well, everything else is these days) perhaps his most impressive achievement is in his final 10 years #MUFC were not the highest wage payers in PL once, yet they won the league five times

Instagram has restricted this cartoon in India. I am posting the cartoon again, along with the notice I received from Instagram. According to the notice, access has been restricted in India “pursuant to a notice from the Government of India / Law Enforcement” and based on local laws. The cartoon is still visible outside India. A cartoon about the Election Commission has been stopped from being seen by Indians. When satire gets censored, perhaps the cartoon has made its point. 🇮🇳 #Censorship #FreeSpeech #Satire #PoliticalCartoon #FreedomOfExpression #ElectionCommission #MANJULtoons

My sister fell from the 4th floor when I was 16 years old and fought for her life for two whole years. When you fall from such a height, it's most often not the impact that kills you. It's the fall. Most people falling from such a height, faint before impact — and they fall on their back. Their spine breaks, ruptures, and is torn to shreds and most of them die or are paralyzed their entire lives. But, my sister , was awake through the fall. She fell on her legs. Later doctors told us that, that was the only reason she'd survived. On impact, her right leg, which bore the maximum impact, was torn to bloody shreds. Her right foot had an entire piece fall off from where it was attached. When I saw her — the white sheet that covers patients was red with blood. I saw bone where flesh was supposed to be. When I saw the X ray for the first time, I couldn't help but hopelessly cry. Part of her hip bone was just bone dust. Literally! Literally bone dust where bone should be. This further complicated her surgery when she was admitted to the ICU. Bone fragments could have ruptured her blood vessels — or so the doctors said. Forget walking ever, doctors told us she had a ten percent chance of survival. My Didi spent two years in the hospital and missed her board exams (12th) that year. Next year, carried on a stretcher, she was ferried from the hospital in an ambulance and she sat for her 12th boards. That year — she scored 92 in her boards with a 94 in Physics and Maths. Her school awarded her an Exceptional Student award and gifted her a phone and a certificate for her achievements. Today, she has two degrees to her name. One in Physics and another in Hotel Management. She's preparing for a third degree — an MBA this year. Today, she's working for a subsidiary of Google in Hyderabad, all alone in a different city. The limp is still visible, but barely. Inspiration? This word doesn't even begin to explain what I feel when I look at her. She's a living, breathing miracle. Literally — a living, breathing miracle.

My appeal to all members of the Digital Publishers Association of India (Digipub): Please highlight the tremendous injustice being done by courts in Gujarat to my colleague, coauthor, collaborator and friend Ravi Nair who has been in jail since Thursday. As his advocate Abhik Chimni told the High Court of Gujarat, Ravi doesn’t deserve to be in jail for even a single minute. Unless the Supreme Court intervenes, his bail application will not be heard before coming Wednesday. This is shocking and shameful. How can a non-bailable warrant be issued without prior notice or the issuance of a bailable warrant. All this is happening at the behest of one of the richest men in the world who happens to be a close friend of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and he is oligarch Gautam Adani. Please examine all the facts and speak up for a fellow journalist who has been unfairly imprisoned. Paranjoy Guha Thakurta

Nagisa Oshima's "The Boy" at a Film School screening. At a crucial juncture, the boy is in an accident and his most treasured hat falls to the ground. From that point, the film moves in reverse motion. I thought it was really cool for a 60s film. The projector was malfunctioning.
Does anyone have any more examples
