2,435 kg of waste removed from Gurugram in one massive cleanup drive!
On Day 2 of CleanWithBittu, Bittu and his team reached Khedki Daula, Gurugram, and got straight to work.
The area was covered in plastic and discarded waste posing a serious danger to stray cattle that can accidentally consume plastic while feeding.
But this time, the garbage didn’t stay there. With the support of local residents, 2,435 kg of waste was cleared from the area.
Next stop: Yuva Shakti Ghat, Noida, where Bittu is calling on people to join the effort to clean the Yamuna banks.

What makes this tragedy even worse is that same BMW was reportedly involved in a March 29 incident, for which an FIR was lodged at Gamdevi police station concerning overspeeding after it allegedly hit a couple.
Police say several more pending e-challans for speeding, jumping a signal and causing an obstruction. Gets worse-
There was a second police case on August 20. Gajjar and three others were allegedly intoxicated and involved in a disturbance outside 145 Pub in Bandra; police alleged that they also obstructed/argued with officers.

A #CCTV footage showed a speeding #BMW crashing through the barrier on #Mumbai's Coastal Road and plunging off a bridge into an under-construction parking site early on Sunday, killing three students and critically injuring another.
The luxury car was seen travelling at high speed before it fell from the bridge and crash-landed at the construction site. The vehicle was heavily damaged.

Around 15 months ago the Finance Ministry said claims that MDR would be charged on UPI were "completely false, baseless and misleading, and reaffirmed its commitment to promoting digital payments through UPI."
Today there is a U turn. From 15 October a 0.4% MDR will apply to specified person to merchant UPI transactions above Rs 2,000.
When STT was introduced, Parliament was told it was in lieu of capital gains tax on listed equities.
We now pay both STT and capital gains tax.
Dividends, once taxed at the company level, are now taxed in shareholders hands at slab rates.
What happened to Dream11?

Who allowed it, who banned it, and what material change occurred in those few years?
The problem is consistency and credibility. That is why so many people keep questioning official GDP growth rate to inflation numbers.
If the government had enough credibility, this level of scepticism would not exist.

The most expensive part of a hospital bill may never touch the hospital at all.
A patient admitted for care has no way of knowing whether the price on a medical consumable reflects its actual cost or a markup fixed long before it ever reached the ward. That gap in information is, at its core, a public health issue.
A survey of hospital consumables in Maharashtra found an IV infusion set with a trade price of ₹11.05 carrying a printed MRP of ₹325 ; a markup of 2,841%. A syringe procured at ₹6.75 carried an MRP of ₹57.20. A catheter procured at ₹29.41 carried an MRP of ₹310.
These are not elective purchases. Patients cannot compare prices, seek alternatives, or question a number printed on a box while receiving care and the MRP itself is often fixed upstream by manufacturers and distributors, disconnected from the trade price by a wide, unexplained margin. The result is a system where the party bearing the cost has the least information to evaluate it.
The regulatory gap is structural: scheduled medicines are capped under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013. Most medical devices and consumables are not leaving both the pricing and the information around it almost entirely unmonitored.
A review of these findings and clear guidelines on the permissible gap between trade procurement price and declared MRP have been recommended to the Department of Pharmaceuticals and the NPPA ; a step toward closing not just a pricing gap, but the information gap patients are left to bear alone.

What? ₹9,14,000 for a room, plus another ₹1,65,000 in taxes!
Yes, we know the 18th BRICS Summit is taking place in Delhi, with delegates from around 20 countries visiting India.
But why do we have to charge such outrageous prices? Why can’t hotel rates be regulated during major international events and offered at reasonable prices instead of turning them into an opportunity to make excessive profits?
This is honestly embarrassing for India. I’m sure many foreign delegates and their teams see these prices, and it doesn’t leave a great impression.
It feels like, every time there’s a major event, some hotels find a way to overcharge not just Indians, but international visitors as well.
Hosting global leaders should be about showcasing India’s hospitality, not making headlines for exorbitant hotel bills! 🤦🏻♂️

We lost another good officer, IAS Divya Mittal, today.
She resigned.
I still remember the case where people in a UP village were dependent on tanker water for 75 years. Villagers requested the MP and MLA many times, but nothing was done.
Then she brought tap water to the village. But she was transferred just because she didn’t invite the local MLA for the inauguration of the water project. After that, the pipeline supplying water to the village was vandalized by some goons.
It feels like our system is designed to punish honest officers.
She left her London job to serve the people of India. But today, she resigned.
I don’t know the reason for her resignation, but I am sure her honesty must have played a role.
