The Vermont Senate has taken the unconstitutional position that it can shut out reporters from committee meetings and do the public's business behind closed doors. Seven Vermont news organizations, including @vtdigger, have signed this letter calling on lawmakers to let us in.

another question for #vted — is there a vermont school district that has done a really great job at teacher retention? what makes you want to stay at your school or district? drop me a line here or at rrobinson @ vtdigger.org.

Most of Vermont’s GA housing program is changing today to a longer-term transitional housing program. This new eligibility is significantly wider than GA, so everyone currently in the GA program should remain eligible, but you need to call ESD before 4:30

the income eligibility for this new program is up to 80% area median income, which is about $58k in chittenden county. there’s another criteria about housing instability, but this income threshold is higher than it was previously

when i spoke with someone from DCF earlier today, the dept was still processing applications… out of the 1600 vermont households enrolled in the GA program, about 1350 had shifted to transitional housing. (renews in three month blocks for more stability.) story to come @vtdigger
