In one of NFL history's most brutal games, the Eagles punished the Redskins at The Vet, 28-14.
No less than nine Redskins players were injured in the contest.
Washington rookie Brian Mitchell — the NFL's future all-time return specialist — was forced into emergency quarterback duty, leading a touchdown drive in the game's final minutes.
The Redskins would issue payback on the same battlefield eight weeks later in the NFC Wild Card Game.

In the first of only two postseason meetings between the two NFC East rivals, Washington exacted sweet revenge for their brutal "Body Bag Game" MNF loss to the Eagles eight weeks earlier at The Vet.
Mark Rypien connected with Art Monk and Gary Clark for scores, while the Redskins defense stymied the dangerous Randall Cunningham — sacking him five times and intercepting him once.

Eagles/Cowboys 1995 They Did it Again!
Easily the most famous Eagles win over Dallas in the 90s was when the 10-3 Cowboys came to Philly trying to secure the 1 seed while the 8-5 Eagles had other ideas.
It was a typical mid 90s rock fight led by running games and defense only it didn’t go well for the Eagles in the 1st half as they went down 17-3 after Emmitt Smith scored 2 TDs and Larry Brown pick 6 late in the half.
But the Eagles defense showed up in the 2nd half, as well as the running game led by Ricky Watters 112 yards and a TD to claw it back to a tied game with under 3 minutes left.
Dallas got the ball back in attempts for a game winning drive by got stuck at 4th and 1 at the Eagles 29 and decided to go for it which was crazy to do back then.
The Eagles stuffed Smith attempt but the refs ruled they blew the play early for the 2 minutes warning.
Instead of learning from their mistake, Barry Switzter called for the exact same play and to quote the great Merrill Reese “They did it again!”
The Eagles D made the play of the year and gave the offense back in easy FG position.
The Eagles kicked a game winning FG and after one more defensive stop the Eagles won 20-17 in one of the more memorable wins over Dallas of all time.
