This “Segment Anything Model” is so cool to me. I have (painful) memories doing segmented image tracking ‘by-hand’, painting mattes one frame at a time when I was a visual effects editor a long time ago. Just one of many powerful AI models that will change so many things.
The Segment Anything Model (SAM) is a powerful zero-shot image segmentation model, employing interactive prompts such as points to generate masks. This paper presents SAM-PT, a method extending SAM's capability to tracking & segmenting anything in videos. arxiv.org/abs/2307.01197
