Thanks, @MCTMmath for the delightful visit. A place where people apologize for the weather and wave at crosswalks—feels like home. 🌾 🏔️

I REALLY like this idea. What if you changed the directions to ask them to "Explain why the answer is correct or incorrect" and sometimes had an incorrect answer? Would this make it better or defeat the purpose?
my new year 10s hate showing their working out so I have taken away their beloved answers

Exciting news! The Digital SAT does not have a “no calculator” portion and a @Desmos calculator is built into the test materials for students to use while testing! Wow. That’s a game changer for students taking the SAT! 💻 ✏️ 🍏@OfficialSAT testinnovators.com/blog/digi…

I don’t know why, but I really like fractions that are less than half but are as close to a half as their denominator allows.

I wish I was taught this way of finding the GCF and LCM when I was in school. It's so much more efficient than factor trees.

I am more tired at the end of the day teaching than I am being a waiter on my legs the whole time. People who have never worked in a school severely underestimate the energy and stamina it takes to be a teacher.
Watch a teacher make roughly ~1,000 instructional decisions in about 45 seconds. Only a few of them are about the lesson but the lesson depends on ALL of them. This is one of the hardest things to explain about teaching to people who have never taught.

Thank you @fawnpnguyen for inspiring our group of Montana math teachers. I'm so glad that we didn't get pumpkin on your dress when you exploded it. Fawn is an incredibly kind and humble person. Learning from her was a joy!
