this is genuinely gold.😅🔥 I watched it twice and I'm still not sure how to put it into words.

AI did clear my repo lots of time, because it couldn't grep or replace a line. Especially Chinese models, if running in parallel they tend to checkout/delete other agents code
Has to be a joke… AI cleared entire db??

The constant cycle of vibe coding slop for dev-speed then having to do the tedious job of un-slopping it.

One of the languages with the highest job security in my opinion. Java isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

I love how the vercel hate season finally calmed down. They are doing a lot for devs
Introducing Vercel Labs Tools for devs in the AI era agent-browser, skills, json-render, deepsec, fx, just-bash, portless, vgpu and more We experiment in public: ship early, learn from feedback, and keep working on what people find useful We've been shipping under the Labs name for a while. Now, Labs is an official team at Vercel focused on exploring new capabilities and primitives that change what developers and agents can do. Here's what to expect: → Labs products: maintained, supported, built to be relied on → Active experiments: moves fast, expect rough edges and breaking changes → Past experiments: ideas that become new projects, make it into existing products, or teach us what to build next vercel.com/labs?experiment-i…

Pirates haven
Authentication is dead. My vibe coded apps remember users through localStorage. No sessions. No OAuth. No backend. Just vibes.

Friction is what builds taste and mastery. The tools that remove it also remove what made us good enough to use them well. Worth reading if you're leading teams or are an early-career engineer: larsfaye.com/articles/ai-cod…

always tell your agents to centralize and normalize query keys, i didn't know why my city editor was slow until i found out that it was doing 212 requests/min to load the needed data.

Of course they raised $300 million
We’ve raised $300M in Series C funding at a $10.3B valuation from Sequoia, Andreessen Horowitz, Jane Street, Argo, and SK Hynix. Our mission is to run the world's inference. This round accelerates production of our inference clusters. We've opened an 80,000-sqft, 10-MW facility 15 minutes from our office to expedite production and prototyping.

Now that memory prices have become unreasonable. Can we all finally stop saying "memory is cheap" and "js is just fine"

Unpopular communication advice: The best way for women in tech to be taken seriously is to talk more about tech, talk less about being women You don’t see Gwynne Shotwell navel-gazing about being in a male dominated field. When she talks, it’s about space Emilie Choi is one of the most admired and respected executives in tech. I’ve heard multiple CEOs say “I need an Emilie.” Don’t ever remember hearing Emilie dwell on being a female minority. When she talks, it’s about crypto (or the Philadelphia Eagles)
There's a Women In Tech conference in the building, so I'm stealing their pizza. Listened to two talks so far. Discussion of tech so far: none. Lots of sharing personal journeys though. Voices are also being heard.

People dealing with local first web apps. How do you handle migrations?

Sqlc is soo good until it isn't. Some complex SQL queries will generate weird go-code no matter what and you can't do dynamic queries unless you start hacking stuffs. #golang

Frontend dev is complex enough and now we are adding magic strings that change the behavior of our code. Let us breathe

Pretty sure there is a correlation with the 14y old founder trend
Is this genius or the downfall of YC?

Frontend's barrier of entry is very low. You only need a text editor and a browser. No terminal/compiler or package manager headache
There’s gotta be a reason why most of ’em pick frontend first....
