They smashed all the traffic signals and ripped out all signs (stop signs, speed limit signs, yield signs, etc).
But instead, we thankfully all (mostly) choose to obey traffic regulations. It gives us actual freedom to move safely in the world. Freedom from fear. Freedom of safety.
