A commentator that still refers to models as glorified autocomplete engines clearly can't be taken seriously. I do agree with the fear mongering act and regulatory appeal being overblown. It is not over yet but it could be over for the most over valuated pipedreams/IPOs for some.
Neuralink’s first product is called Telepathy.
It enables high-speed communication with computers or humans simply by thinking. Output bandwidth will vastly exceed the fastest human speech or typing in a few years. Read that sentence again.
Amazing how natural this sounds.
This is the way forward and despite all the billions flowing into frontier frenzy the future tilts slowly to distributed hyperspecialized models that operate efficient, fast and cheaper than we can imagine, especially now with all the IPO drama.
For an increasingly bigger slice of our work, we need less frontier and more harness with access to a range of optimized models.
We believe voice is the most natural way to interact with intelligence, so we created Dessa, the most authentic full-duplex speech model ever built. Talking with it feels like talking with a person…full of emotion, nuance, pauses, and a natural cadence.

There are probably bugs - please report them!
You can use the feedback button. It accepts audio inputs with @Grok voice. Every message goes into a queue that I can hand off to an agent to fix

We announced an agreement to acquire a nationwide low-band spectrum license portfolio that will pave the way for @Starlink to become a major mobile carrier in the US.
With this new spectrum and our Gen2 constellation, Starlink Mobile can ensure Americans have access to high-speed mobile broadband no matter where they are → spacex.com/updates#starlink-…

I wanted to quickly create a short video with Opus 5.5 about the history of AI, from "Attention is all you need" to AGI.
No stock footage, no image or video generators: every frame is rendered from code.
This 3-minute film was made 100% in code by Claude in Claude Code: ~7,400 lines of React/TypeScript (Remotion), every image drawn in SVG and Canvas, an open-source TTS voice, and a score synthesized in Python. No stock footage. No image generators.
Id say pretty cool! Tookl about 1h and 7% weekly rates.

Super cool to see. Soon everything can be vibe made.
I do wonder how patents can be protected going forward. Fining personal tinkering for IP infringement isn't practically feasible and possibly legally not even possible. I don't say it must be protected btw, a patent usually should provide for the incentive of inventing or at least cover the incurred cost by protecting the commercial exploitation of the invention. Pre-AI this took a lot of time and resources. What we see now is an accelerating collapse of this paradigm.
It's hard to imagine the possibilities of Grok Bot with a next gen model trained on what must be the most interesting and unique engineering data in the world:
- Engineers safely catching steel skycrapers falling with mach speeds towards earth.
- Engineers delivering satellites to orbit with reusable rockets like it's the milkman doing it's daily round casually...
@elonmusk is often optimistic on timelines, this time the uncertainty is adding to the excitement in many ways. It makes me enthusiastic for sure and I look forward to tomorrow. Literally.
If you did not try Grok Bot or Cursor Projects yet, don't wait too long ;-)
(btw Grok Imagine made the image below with zero guidance, based on the falling rocket & milkman example)
