It would be interesting to see how hard MLB dudes are throwing using the old Ray Gun. Anyone under 45 doesn’t know what a Ray gun is most likely.

This is 100% the truth! Shocks me how little guys actually know the game and play to win.

🗣”I have found youngsters are coming into college w/out the instincts for the game they once had b/c it seems like in the summer all they’re trying to do is showcase their skill & athletic ability as opposed to PLAYING TO WIN.” -Paul Mainieri HC @LSUbaseball- Take a listen!👇

Stetson University Baseball Complex, better than most minor league parks we've been to.

Love this. Mentions change up being the hardest pitch to recognize early in season. Also has an amazing 2 strike approach where he chokes up & battles. W/ 2, I always felt looking FB away & adjusting works best. It’s nice to see somebody in MLB battle their ass off w/ 2 strikes.

Top 2: SEE YOU LATER BASEBALL! Geordon Blanton knocks the first home run of the season for the Thundering Herd, and it's a 3-run blast! Marshall takes the 5-2 lead, still batting in the 2nd #RiseAsOne

A kid from a developing country is passing you by practicing w/ a hand-made bat & old glove, chasing one baseball around a field w/ no bases. Meanwhile, you have access to named brand equipment, next level training systems & facilities but you’d rather stare at your cell phone.

A lot of coaches today are studying what is measurable, rather than what is meaningful.

I turn 59 in less than a month. Coaching 18-20 yr olds makes me feel 30 or less. With all my peers retiring, I have set an approximate retirement date. It will either be the day before or the day after I die. Can’t quite decide yet.
