#Isaias is now a major hurricane with max sustained winds of 120 mph. Some additional strengthening is likely today before the storm begins to feel the effects of stronger wind shear as it nears the coast. Despite any weakening, Isaias will be a dangerous hurricane with significant storm surge, damaging winds, and flooding rains. Long lasting power outages are likely along its path with an elevated tornado risk, especially in the front right quadrant of the storm. Forecast remains on track with landfall expected tonight near or just east of the Florida/Alabama line. We will see scattered to numerous tropical showers and thunderstorms through the weekend. Water levels along our west coast will run 1 to 3 feet above normal as Isaias passes well west of the #Florida peninsula. Much drier weather with lower dew points will arrive early next week.
