Thanks to a grant from the Gary Sinise Foundation, the Town of Erwin Fire Department received a new Polaris UTV - giving crews the ability to respond to fires and medical emergencies in areas that can’t be reached by a fire truck or ambulance.
After Hurricane Helene placed a significant financial burden on the town, this support made all the difference. As Fire Chief Jason Harris shared, without this grant, the department would not have been able to purchase this critical equipment to better serve and protect their community. #FirstResponderFriday

What an incredible way to kick off our first Lt. Dan Band concert weekend of 2026. It was an honor to play for the heroes and families at Camp Pendleton, Naval Base Ventura County, where I also got to dish out food, and the @GarySiniseFound 13th Invincible Spirit Festival at Naval Medical Center San Diego where I had a chance to visit patients in the hospital.
These men and women, and the loved ones who stand beside them, give so much in service to our country. We were humbled to show up for them in one of the best ways we know how…with honor, gratitude, and a whole lot of rock ’n roll.

No pet in the White House. But animal welfare laws still passed.
Trump became the first US president in over a century to live without a pet. Yet under his administration, laws banned the dog and cat meat trade in 2018 and ended military funding for painful experiments on dogs and cats in 2025.
For animal lovers, it's complicated. No furry companion in the photos. But real policy changes protecting animals nationwide.
Even leaders without pets can shape how society treats them.
