I, along with others, was so blessed to hear veteran state missionary Mark Wakefield speak in chapel. Mark is retiring from his role as disaster relief strategist at the end of February. He is a joy to work with, and I deeply appreciate his commitment to the cause.
I must confess that I have, for a long time, thought the term “waiting room” as part of a doctor’s office is not good terminology. Americans don't like waiting. Yet, I do believe waiting to be important for followers of Christ. It can remind us that God has His own timing.
Pam and I will join the celebration of 100 years of steadfast ministry by Pleasant Valley Baptist in Verbena. We are rejoicing with the church family and looking forward to the day!
I am glad I can fellowship today with Eric Taylor, associational mission strategist for the Marshall Baptist Association, and the ministers in the area for a devotional time. They take the Great Commission very seriously.
I am privileged to be a part of the Tuscaloosa County Baptist Association meeting tonight. I appreciate being with so many friends again.
Pray with me for members of the Yellow Shirt Army as they minister throughout long days and hours as witnesses for Christ, working in disaster relief in central and south Alabama. thealabamabaptist.org/alabam…
Pam and I will be with pastor Tim Coleman and the Winfield First Baptist Church family for their Legacy Sunday. We are pleased to be back with this strategic congregation as they honor the past and glory in the hope of the future.
Praying for Mark Wakefield, associational mission strategists, and members of the Yellow Shirt Army as they assess damage from Isaias. Thankful for all these Great Commission partners and local Alabama Baptist churches as they minister in the name of Christ.
The Yellow Shirt Army of Alabama Baptists stands ready to respond to the aftermath of the storm heading our way. Praying for all those who are bracing for its impact.
As we advance through life, a helpful reminder for us is that nothing happens which is incidental or accidental. God has a purpose in it all.
I have been blessed by Alaska Baptists during their Convention meeting – a time of sweet fellowship and inspiration. It was a privilege to share the Word with them. (Photos by Rita Goldman)
The president of Alaska Baptists praying over Rickie Wilson and his wife, Christina. He has finished his first full year as executive director for the Alaska Baptist Resource Network. Rickie has a pastoral heart, and he loves the people of Alaska.
Pam and I are overjoyed with the opportunity to be back with our Alaska Baptist friends as they gather for their annual meeting. Rickie Wilson, their executive director, is seeking to lead them to greater horizons.
Grateful for the opportunity to preach Sunday at my home church, @FBCPrattville. Justin Hall is leading us so well. He loves his people, and we love him.
“Don’t let praise go to your head or criticism go to your heart,” often attributed to legendary basketball coach John Wooden.
“Listen to the fans in the stands, and you will wind up sitting with them.” -Retired Alabama Head Coach Gene Stallings
Continuing to pray during the Week of Prayer for State Missions. Thankful for Candace McIntosh, Shannon Maddox and so many others whose ministries are undergirded by the Myers-Mallory State Missions Offering.
From Girls in Action to leading global mission teams, Shannon Maddox’s heart for ministry was shaped by Alabama WMU. Now, she’s helping equip women’s leaders across our state! Your giving supports ministries that raise up and encourage leaders.

Every promise politicians make, someone has to pay for, such as taxpayers, but the promises of Jesus have already been paid for by Him.
As the Week of Prayer for State Missions continues through Sunday, please ask our Lord’s blessings especially on five strategic missional priorities:
Alabama WMU
Disaster Relief
Church Planting
Partnership Missions
Church Revitalization
These are the five Great Commission ministries supported by gifts to the Myers-Mallory State Missions Offering.
Please pray about how your church might participate in this vital offering – and remember that your congregation can set its own dates for a week of prayer for state missions.

Appreciated the ministry of hospitality by our friends in the Baldwin Baptist Association. I enjoyed reconnecting with longtime friends. Grateful to God for all of these. Thanks to Jennifer Davis Rash @RashionalThts for the photos.
