Following the OBR’s Budget analysis indicating that the Employment Rights Act will have a negative impact on the UK economy, Lord Hunt of Wirral asked what action the Government intend to take in response.
The minister refused to say what specific steps ministers will take to mitigate the job-killing effects of the Government’s Employment Rights Act.

I had to check because I didn't believe it could be true... But amid all the pressing issues the country is facing, there is a Labour MP spending time on social media suggesting adults should stop giving/receiving blowjobs. What the hell is going on in the PLP??

The King has reminded the Commonwealth that the Royal Navy led the way in ending the transatlantic slave trade.
In his speech at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting on Tuesday, he told leaders that the “complex” histories of their forebears must include “the good they did as well as the wrongs”.

With higher APD, a doubling business rates and, the NI jobs tax, passengers already paying MUCH more to reach airports through crazy net zero surface access charges.
Now @UKLabour wants another raid on jet fuel.
They talk up growth, then tax the living daylights out of aviation.
Holidaymakers will end up footing the bill - it’s got to stop @Heidi_Labour & @andyburnham!

Why is Andy Burnham so concerned about other countries’ debt when our own is over £100,000 for every household?
Not a single penny of British taxpayers’ money should be spent on reparations.
British taxpayers’ money must not be spent on reparations.
Honoured to represent Basildon and Billericay at the @HouseofCommons Garden of Remembrance service.
Remembering those from our who fought and in many cases gave their lives for our country and the freedoms we cherish.

Excellent article by @TomTugendhat. Slowly the outrage of the slavery reparations shakedown is being exposed. Argument by argument the case is being won.

🥀 @UKLabour Treasury Minister @EmmaforWycombe MP doesn’t think you’re a ‘working person’ if you run a small business and employ people
🏬 Café, pub, shop, restaurant, gym and salon owners work tirelessly, often 7 days a week, to keep their businesses alive and employ others
🤔 So why aren’t Labour interested in them?
🌳 Conservatives will END business rates for all retail, leisure and hospitality firms with sub £110k business rates valuation as we as ENDING Labour’s crazy Inheritance Tax attack on family businesses

🥳 Good news story of the week! 🚌
The bus shelter outside The Grange on Stock Road has been reinstated! 👏
After a local resident raised concerns about elderly residents being left without shelter while waiting for buses, I took up the issue and pressed for its return.
Delighted we got there in the end! 💙
Listening, standing up for residents and delivering practical results.

Slavery was an evil in which people from every continent and region participated. We should be honest about the whole history, not select the parts that are politically convenient today, especially given Britain's leading role in ending the transatlantic slave trade.
If Caribbean countries are asking Britain for a formal apology for Britain’s role in the transatlantic slave trade, will they also be asking the same of the descendants of African kingdoms, rulers and merchants who captured, sold and profited from the trade?
On demands for reparations, whether through cash or debt relief, we have been down this track before. Twenty-five years ago, Jubilee 2000, Drop the Debt and Make Poverty History argued that cancelling the debts of poorer countries would give them a fresh start. More than $100 billion of debt was eventually written off, but many of those countries have since built up even bigger debts. Labour are already spending too much on Britain's welfare state, now is not the time for Andy Burnham to be providing global welfare.
There is no reason British taxpayers today should be held financially responsible for things that happened generations before any of us were born. And I have even less patience for political elites in commonwealth countries who don’t know how to make their own citizens prosperous now looking for another opportunity to blame Britain.
As Prime Minister, Andy Burnham should be Britain’s greatest defender. Instead, he is writing articles saying we need to confront our history (as if we haven't done enough of that) and considering another formal historical apology. Tony Blair already expressed Britain’s deep sorrow and regret for our role in the slave trade nearly twenty years ago. There is no need to do so again.
This is all another navel-gazing distraction. The Commonwealth should be looking forward, not endlessly backwards. That means economic partnerships to make us all richer and deeper military and security cooperation against common threats. If every Commonwealth summit becomes an exercise in presenting Britain with demands for cash then we need to start asking if it is worth the effort.
