Maravillados con la charla de @rich_lem mind hopping games y el universo de posibilidades que ofrecen las cuestiones sobre identidad personal en las narrativas y diseño de videojuegos 🤯
Citando a Judith Butler, Bowie, Bell Hooks… tan actual, tan universal, tan necesario. 👏🏼👏🏼

While building our prototype, we are religiously following interesting words by @rich_lem in a book called "A Playful Production Process". You need to create a toy instead of game!

In honour of Dread Delusion's impending release (May 14), here are nine artworks, people, or real-world phenomena that inspired the Clockwork Kingdom. 🧵xitter.cf/io_brindle/status/1788…
The indie game I'm making, and three of the inspirations behind it!

ALT An intimidating-looking woman in ornate medieval-style armour, holding a giant sword in one hand and an open spellbook in the other, summons magical symbols into the air while in the background a giant red ball of /something/ hangs in the sky instead of a sun. At the bottom of the image is a title, with an icon of a flaming skull: DREAD DELUSION.

To be clear, I argue no such thing.
All forms of media lecture. *The article the author wrote* lectures. It’s on the reader or player as to what they think. Those who dislike the “woke messaging” should take it as “challenging and teaching” and then make up their own minds.

Too rainy! Thanks to @EvanBalster for keeping the #GDCFeet flame kindled this (and every) year 💚 and fingers crossed we’ll see everyone for a stroll around the headlands next year!

Replying to @EvanBalster
With heavy hearts we are calling off #GDCFeet for this year. The weather is looking too rainy even for an urban hike. Feel free to use the hashtag to organize alternative rituals and explorations if you're still in the city tomorrow.
I can’t join GDC Feet this year, but have fun if you go with @EvanBalster and other friends! And if you plan to go, take waterproof jackets and shoes, umbrellas, and lots of warm layered clothes!
We are organizing for #GDCFeet 2024, a relaxing Saturday afternoon hike. We are keeping a close eye on the weather forecast so keep an eye on the hashtag! We will be posting an update early tomorrow.
Thanks so much for the kind words, @mattxreality ! I'm glad it's useful!
This is the best $39.94 I've ever spent... 💡Highly recommended. Game-changing read. Accelerate your ability to finish your dreams. Buy the book. @rich_lem #gamedesign #indiedev

I know I’m super-LTTP, but I just finished @venbaGame, and want to recommend this brilliant, beautiful, moving game to you, in case you didn’t play it yet either. Many congratulations to everyone on the team—it’s deservedly on so many people’s GOTY lists, including mine. 🧡
