We’ve wanted to add this to the SuperRare experience for a long time, and it felt like a natural next launch after drop calendar and user posts.
We’ve had a ton of fun testing it out with the team, and hope you love it too.

In 2017, we set out to change how creators make a living on the internet.
Since then, we've helped artists earn nearly $200M on SuperRare.
A lot has changed in nine years, but our mission remains the same: build the best tools for creators to connect with community and get paid doing what they love.
Today, we're launching direct messaging and group chat on SuperRare 🎉
Why build this when there are already so many great chat products? Because why the fuck not.
Collecting is more fun with friends. We want to make it easier for creators and fans to connect, collect, and grow this space we know and love.
We're starting simple. Messaging requires a mutual follow, and we're shipping reporting tools to help prevent spam and abuse.
This is v0, and it's the least good version we'll ever ship.
Coming soon, you'll be able to mint, bid, and buy directly from DMs and group chats, making it easier than ever to collect.
SuperRare is becoming much more than just a marketplace. It's a place where creators and community can connect directly, support each other, discover new things, and have fun together.

The first sale of an NFT on SuperRare is considered a primary sale and does not include a creator royalty.
The second sale on SuperRare, and every subsequent sale, is considered a secondary sale, with 10% of the sale price going to the original creator.
Wallet transfers and sales on other marketplaces don't count toward this distinction.
This is an automated, non-custodial system governed by smart contracts. These rules apply consistently to all transactions, without discretionary decisions by SuperRare.

it's built its own painting simulator and cli, picks its own subjects, runs studies, critiques its work, and tries again.

Seeing things like this, I believe more and more every day that, with @im_jonooo and the @SuperRare team, we did something that will ripple across culture.
A non-./spiral-specific note, but one that feels very much about its themes, and about time: I also find a kind of twisted joy in the fact that sometimes the freshest ideas receive the least support early on. As a curator and artist, there’s something incredibly rewarding about finding the joy to create anyway. Being ahead all the time can be lonely, but surrounding yourself with people you love, being bound to nothing but energy, putting something into the world, and letting time {spiral} do its magic is maybe the most rewarding thing of all.
I am inspired to build, experiment, and show how differently things can be done more than ever, thank you everyone.
