One of the most pernicious lies the media has propagated is that journalists possess some special freedom of speech unavailable to everyone else. They do not. The First Amendment does not create a privileged caste called “the media.” Freedom of speech belongs to everyone, equally. And “freedom of the press” does not mean special constitutional privileges for people carrying press credentials. The press is the means of publication and dissemination, historically the printing press. That freedom belongs to everyone too, because freedom of speech is worthless if you are forbidden from publishing or disseminating what you say. This is elementary constitutional law. Yet media figures, including increasingly toxic voices at Fox News, continue pretending that calling yourself a journalist somehow entitles you to rights the rest of the country does not have. It doesn’t. That lie should be called out every single time it is repeated.
Today’s action revoking access for journalists from CNN, POLITICO, and MSNOW violates the First Amendment. The implications extend beyond these organizations: a standard used to exclude one news outlet because of its coverage could be applied to any outlet in the future. The American people, through a free and independent press, must be able to scrutinize those elected to power, regardless of whether government officials view it favorably.  That’s why courts have repeatedly held that once the White House provides access to journalists, it cannot deny that access arbitrarily or based on the content of their reporting. The WHCA calls on the administration to immediately restore our colleagues' access. - Jacqui Heinrich, WHCA President

I think there is no injunction in place. The Supreme Court stayed the injunction pending appeal. This decision is the appeal. But the SCOTUS order says the Stay remains through the period of the Govt seeking Cert. until Cert is denied or the Supreme Court rules. So nothing changes based on this ruling -- Govt can keep sending aliens to Third Countries.

It's truly hard to imagine why President Trump would ban CNN from the White House with headlines like these... 90% of the division in America comes from corporate press. They are the enemy of the people. Trump wouldn't have been shot at. BLM Covid riots wouldn't have happened. Millions would have survived Covid. Charlie Kirk would be alive today. If the press was honest, we would be a different country for the better

One of the most important and distressing features of the lawfare industrial machine, and something I have heard from every single victim I have spoken to over the past few months since starting Counterlawfare, is that it always, and by design, seeks to ruin not just finances but families. And it is also true that the shoe is almost never on the other foot because Republicans generally do not fight with the same tools. None of the lawfare activists has to worry that their family is going to lose their house, that their spouse is going to lose their job, that their children are going to be targeted, or that they are going to suffer massive health consequences from the stress. And because the people doing this never get a taste of their own medicine, they just keep doing it.
After the first Trump administration, my family spent money we did not have on lawyers because of multiple partisan Democrat led investigations into President Trump. I watched as many of my friends also had no idea how to pay expensive legal bills because they simply served their country. You can’t convince me Democrats won’t do this again.

COVID 2.0: Pennsylvania lawmakers are sounding the alarm on a 502-page health code rewrite they say would hand Gov. Josh Shapiro's Department of Health sweeping new powers — including the ability to enter private homes, access medical records, and pull children from school for private questioning without parental consent. Pennsylvania was the only state in the nation to strip its governor of emergency powers through a constitutional amendment after COVID. Now, critics say Shapiro is using a regulatory backdoor to reclaim those powers and then some. The public comment window closes Monday. House Minority Leader Jesse Topper says every American should be paying attention: "We were one of the worst locked-down states in the entire nation. And we had one of the worst death rates from COVID… We don't want unelected bureaucrats making those decisions." Full story here ⬇️ foxnews.com/politics/covid-2…

@politico concerns about media access to the White House might have meant something if they had spoken out when KJP and the Biden White House revoked 440 passes of independent journalists - but its not really about a free press, its about them POLITICO EIC Jonathan Greenberger emailed the newsroom: “A few minutes ago, our colleague Cheyenne Haslett attempted to enter the White House to do her job as a POLITICO reporter. Secret Service denied her entry to the complex and confiscated the pass that allows her access to the White House. We stand by her and all reporters here covering the White House. As we said yesterday, we will vigorously defend our First Amendment rights.”

How was that money spent the past 50 years? Why is the building in such a dilapidated condition if the funding problems are solely limited to Trump?
There are three important sources of funding for the Kennedy Center: government, charity, and ticket sales. Congress has already allocated $256 million for the Center that Trump is holding hostage. And charity and ticket sales plummeted as soon as Trump put his name on the building. So all he has to do is step away, and people will come flooding back. Thank you @TheLeadCNN & @jaketapper for having me!

You should do some research on the meaning of the word "press" in the First Amendment. You might be surprised.
A few thoughts this morning on the situation at the White House. I'm sure plenty of people don't see the big deal in denying a few outlets access to the grounds. But it is a big deal. * Press freedom is a bedrock principle. * Less journalism = more opportunities for corruption. * Banning reporters has a chilling effect for those reporters not banned * There is nothing to indicate Trump will stop with these three. * Less appreciated: adversarial press helps presidents. We should welcome checks and transparency. It's good governance. I'm disheartened by the absence of real meaningful public pushback as these outlets have their credentials pulled this morning. There should be collective action. The WHCA should be explaining more openly what they're doing. After all, this is an institution founded on open publication of information

BREAKING NEWS: I am pleased to announce that the United States of America has entered into an Agreement with The Kingdom of Denmark, and Greenland, that gives the United States permanent control over security, and all other needs, in Greenland, completely addressing ALL of our many U.S. concerns. There will be NO COST to the United States! At my direction, we worked with representatives of Denmark and Greenland to guarantee that the United States will FOREVER have the complete ability to do what is necessary in Greenland in order to secure and defend the security of Greenland, and the United States of America. Additionally, from now on, no U.S. adversary can EVER have a base in Greenland, have a military presence in Greenland, or make sensitive investments in Greenland, without our express written approval. For over 100 years, Presidents have known the strategic importance of Greenland, but NONE of them were able to do anything about it. I am proud to be the President that permanently and conclusively addressed this very important situation. This is an “Infinite Life” Agreement, there is no end! We are very honored and proud of what has just taken place, and everything agreed to today will be cherished by the American People. We will immediately begin the process of developing a large Military presence in the appropriate part of Greenland, of which there are many. We will work with the people of Greenland in its development and construction. This solution is a great one for the United States of America, Denmark, Greenland, and all of our Allies. We look forward to working with the wonderful people of Denmark and Greenland toward a magnificent future with respect to this large, and highly strategic, parcel of land. We will be very protective of it! This is a dream come true for the United States of America, one that is very important, historic, and special. Thank you for your attention to this matter! I am proud to announce that, effective immediately, I am banning Fake News CNN, MSNOW (who recently changed their name from MSNBC due to lack of viewership and credibility!), and Politico (The recipients of an illegal and ridiculous $8 Million Dollar subscription, an All Time Record, directly from the United States Government, under Crooked Joe Biden, in order to keep them “alive.” Seems like corruption to me!), from the White House as a result of their constant “reporting” FAKE NEWS! Media Outlets shouldn’t be able to constantly write or report FICTION and LIES when they’re covering the President of the United States, the Trump Administration, or the United States of America. Other Fake News Media Outlets to follow. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP

It never ceases to amaze how many supposedly educated people do not understand what “the press” means in the First Amendment. It refers to the press in the sense of publishing, historically the printing press. It does not create a privileged class called “journalists” with special constitutional rights unavailable to everyone else. The First Amendment protects the same freedom of speech for everyone, exactly as it should, and, as a second step, the press, as in the freedom to disseminate information, because freedom of speech is useless without the right to disseminate it. This is all very elementary stuff, and yet there are still countless people running around claiming that so-called journalists have special rights.
The president said it plainly in the Oval Office, describing his own planned action as a “ban on the free press.” The Constitution protects the freedom of the press from government interference. That protection does not depend on whether the president likes a news organization’s coverage, agrees with its reporting, or approves of the questions its journalists ask. This is about more than the rights of journalists. It is about the right of the American people to receive a full and independent account of the activities, policies and decisions of whoever occupies the nation’s highest office. The WHCA stands in defense of our colleagues at CNN, MSNOW, and POLITICO who are being singled out for doing their jobs. - Jacqui Heinrich, WHCA President

So why is it a falling-apart mess? No one really contests that fact. Is it true or not that the prior Board was paying themselves massive salaries while adding one deferred maintenance problem after another?? The building is 55 years old. That means 1960's era wiring and plumbing. The $250 million renovation being done right now is the most extensive work EVER done on it. Been inside any movie theaters built in the 1960s lately?
Reminder to those who apparently don't know: the Kennedy Center was financially robust, with many private donors, before this administration undermined it, chased out the National Symphony, Washington Opera and others. Trump has forced it into bankruptcy out of sheer vanity.
