The C100 is earning its place in @USArmy Aviation history while helping shape what comes next. Built to adapt and proven in Soldiers’ hands, the C100 has quickly established its operational value and place of recognition among mission-enabling military aircraft. The C100 continues to be fielded with Army units around the world, putting reconnaissance, communications and other critical mission capabilities in operators’ hands through one modular aircraft. That field experience drives continuous improvement, with operator feedback from real-world missions helping PDW refine performance, integrate new capabilities and keep the aircraft evolving with the force. This Saturday, October 24, the Army Aviation Museum will unveil a C100 as its newest display, connecting the Army’s aviation heritage with the adaptable systems supporting its formations today. See it at the Models & Machines show and Training Support Facility Open House, 10 a.m.–3 p.m., at Fort Rucker, Alabama. Video credit: Army Aviation Museum Foundation go.pdw.ai/4ivfBGi

this is incredible the guys at Citrini used Claude to design completely new proteins for a potential scorpion antivenom Claude launched more than 300 agents, ran the research, designed 211 proteins in 64 hours, and sent the designs to a lab for testing. 17 of the 211 designs actually worked in the lab, binding to their targets we are now at the point where just a few people with AI can do in days computational design work that used to require entire teams of specialized scientists and this is just the beginning
What is AI really capable of in bio? To separate hype from reality, we spent 3 months working firsthand with @AnthropicAI's internal research model to see if it could create an experimental scorpion antivenom. Introducing Citrini Therapeutics. citriniresearch.com/p/citrin…

I once sold a truck to a guy who called and agreed to pay full price as long as I brought it to the airport within the hour. It was incredibly sus, but my truck had been for sale for months, and I had grown desperate. So I went. It only got weirder. The moment I arrive he hops in the drivers seat for a test drive, and a run to the bank to get the money to buy it. He’s a freakishly large porcine fellow, adorned head to toe in dirty work clothes. He looked like Hagrid if he were an alcoholic with a the world’s most unionized construction job. We get to chatting on the drive. Work, life, conspiratorial ramblings, Donald Trump, Pakis. The usual, if you know this type of guy. I come to learn he needed to buy my truck to get home. He had bought a one way plane ticket to come buy a different one, but had been ghosted by the seller when he landed. He was stranded at an airport on the other side of the country with no other plan. So I thought, “well maybe I know the guy who ghosted him. Let me see if I can help.” I asked to see his phone to read his FB Marketplace message with the seller. He had been talking to some guy with Broken English and a vaguely middle eastern sounding name for several days now. The guy was selling an incredibly desirable truck for 30% below market. A virtually impossible deal. The vehicular equivalent of a horny singles in your area add on a porn site. He turned to me and said “y’know, his listing says the truck is about an hour from here, maybe I should go look for him.” I said “bro I’m looking at his profile, he has this same truck listed in every city in North America. The plate in the photos isn’t even from our state. This truck is spammed hundreds of times across marketplace.” To which he replied, “yeah I thought that was weird. I think it’s a glitch.” “No it’s not a glitch… you didn’t send him money did you?” I asked, fearing the answer. “Yeah I sent him a money, otherwise he was gonna sell it to another guy.” I winced. “how much?” “Five thousand bucks.” “……okay.” “Well let’s look him up, we have his name.” He replies confidently. “Look him up where?” I ask. “Facebook” “I’m looking at his Facebook. It’s not real.” Just then we arrive at the bank, he parks my 2500HD in the handicap spot at a 45 degree angle. I say maybe we should pick a different spot, he tells me he isn’t picky. We set up the wire transfer, he makes a disparaging remark about brown people to the teller. She frowns, she is brown. The money luckily still gets sent. And he takes off in the truck. Hours later he calls me from the middle of nowhere. He had decided to fuck with the aftermarket tuner while driving and bricked it. He was stranded. I don’t think all you xitter users realize just how difficult the modern world already is for an 85IQ person to navigate. With 53% of youtube shorts views now coming from AI content, these people are about to be thrust into a completely incomprehensible dream realm forever.

The @USCG recently visited PDW’s Drone Factory 01 to see firsthand how we’re building for operations at the tactical edge and to receive hands-on training with the C100. We were proud to spend time with the Coast Guard team discussing the operational challenges they face across maritime environments and how technology might extend its reach. During training on the C100, we demonstrated how autonomous systems can give operators greater awareness, flexibility, and decision advantage. Thank you to the Coast Guard team for the visit and its commitment to advancing operator capability.

Crazy banking stat from FT: JP, BofA and Wells Fargo carry $1.6 trillion of ZERO interest deposits. Paying 3% would wipe out half their earnings. So the big banks blocked the exits. No agents allowed. What do you think happens next? Meta probably buys a bank and rebrands it Muse Freedom or something to provide a warm off-ramp. Simply put in your current interest rate (um zero) and tally how much you would make by porting over (a lot more). Takeaway: A business that depends on the customer being ill informed or lazy is doomed to succumb to the market equalizing forces of AI. Just a matter of time.

#AUSA2026 hosted by @AUSAorg was a week of direct conversations with @USArmy leaders, customers and partners about what operators need now and what it will take to deliver it. Those conversations will continue to shape how PDW builds, adapts, and provides systems around real operational requirements. Operators shouldn’t have to stand by for airpower. Thank you to everyone who spent time with our team in Washington in support of that mission. Decisive airpower in the hands of every operator.

The car itself will have little real impact on the financial success of $TSLA…minuscule compared to Optimus but does put the amazing engineering capabilities on display. Selling Roadsters means far less than the fact they can make anything they dream up

U.S. Performance Drone Works (PDW) C100 quadcopter equipped with a Leonardo DRS STAG-5 laser target designator supported precision mortar engagements beyond the standard maximum range of a 120 mm (4.7 in) smoothbore mortar during a U.S. special operations test in Dugway, Utah. The system was demonstrated during the Iron Sting Precision Mortar Validation Event at the White Sage Mortar Range. The STAG-5 combines electro-optical and infrared sensors with an integrated laser target designator, allowing the drone to illuminate targets for laser-guided munitions. According to Leonardo DRS, repeated engagements were conducted beyond the standard maximum range of a 120 mm (4.7 in) mortar. However, the company did not disclose the distances achieved, the type of mortar ammunition used, or the accuracy of the impacts. The event was organized by the Capability Development and Innovation office in support of U.S. Army Special Operations Command.

Anthropic has replaced Git internally. The titans are falling.
New on our Engineering blog: Creating in-house source control. In May, we merged around 2,500 code changes per day. In September, we merged more than 30,000 per day. As a result, we became bottlenecked by developer infrastructure built for human (rather than agent) scale. Here, we share how we built a new version control system—and fully migrated our monorepo from git—in five months: anthropic.com/engineering/re…
