3 years ago today, @JoeBiden signed the American Rescue Plan into law. It was the critical piece of legislation that helped us kickstart the great American comeback—the best economic recovery in the world. I was proud to cast the deciding vote for it in the Senate.

Dr. Takiyah Nur Amin examines sacred Black "text" in UU tradition, by examining the way our Black ancestors lived. Black "text" embodies the lived reality of our Black forbearers and ancestors who came before us: how they lived out their values. bit.ly/3T0VYbo

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza requires an immediate cease fire and a massive influx of medical aid, food, water and other lifesaving needs. UNRWA needs funding now.
In just over four months in #Gaza, there have been more #children, more journalists, more medical personnel, and more @UN staff killed than anywhere in the world during a conflict. It is with profound regret that I must now inform you that @UNRWA has reached a breaking point, with Israel’s repeated calls to dismantle it and the freezing of funding by donors at a time of unprecedented humanitarian needs in Gaza. Read my letter to the President of the UN General Assembly @UN_PGA 👇 unrwa.org/newsroom/official-…

What should be clear to all of us is that the Israeli government’s forced displacement, punishment, and intentional inflicting of suffering and death upon children and civilians in Gaza is a moral catastrophe that our faith demands we condemn and resist. #CeasefireNOW

Stockard Channing was riveting in "Other Desert Cities" and left me in tears. I'm so glad that her fine stage work in "6 Degrees" was transformed onto film, which holds up beautifully after so many years.
Happy birthday to Stockard Channing, whose characters wear wry detachment like a Chanel suit and who makes us feel the ache of sincerity beneath ironic surfaces. My favorite stage performances: "Joe Egg," "Other Desert Cities" and her apotheosis, "Six Degrees of Separation."

I'm glad for this new statement from the Unitarian Universalist Association condemning the Israeli military's ongoing violence against #Gaza
We condemn the Israeli military’s ongoing violence against #Gaza and the U.S. government’s complicity. Grounded in our belief that every human life is sacred, we join the chorus of voices calling for an immediate #ceasefire. Read our statement online. bit.ly/48hHc5p

We were about $6,999,999 short on funding for a Super Bowl ad with this same message, but maybe if everyone shares it, we will reach the same number of people?
