Wise (if unlikely to be heeded!) words from St Ignatius (b otd 1491):
Be slow to speak, and only after having first listened quietly, so that you may understand the meaning, leanings, and wishes of those who do speak. Thus you will better know when to speak and when to be silent.

Republican Senator Thom Tillis SLAMS Trump for suspending Russia sanctions:
“Beyond irresponsible. What part of enforcing a law passed 86-11 by the Senate does the President and his advisors not understand? It’s unconscionable that this administration is capitulating to a Russian dictator who illegally invaded Ukraine and butchers innocent civilians every single day.
If the President wants to actually bring down energy prices, he can do it by solving the Iran problem, not by doing a solid for Vladimir Putin.”

Alex Gibney: “There was an estimate that what [Elon Musk] did by suddenly cutting USAID would cost through disease and starvation as many as 14M lives. Even if you discount that, we know within a year of those cuts where they were literally burning food going to starving children, 500K children died. This is really a crime against humanity, but he makes a joke about it, I put USAID into the woodchipper. What he put into the woodchipper were children”

Reuters is reporting that Trump called off Ukraine's Starshield technology, and while the White House denies this, Elon Musk took to social media to call Trump out on it.
Musk stated that the capabilities for such a decision ultimately land with POTUS, undercutting the story sold by the White House, and reminding us all that Trump continues to fall absurdly short in the support Ukraine needs from this administration.

Lots of folks in the pro-life movement browbeat and shamed people for not supporting Trump, and now we have more abortions, the generic abortion pill, a completely watered-down GOP plank on abortion, and public executions. Absolutely pathetic and very, very sad.

Hmm. I think Putin could have ended this war much more easily by never invading Ukraine in the first place—and by not killing scores of Ukrainian civilians just this week.
And, as I wrote in @USAToday, President Trump continues to blame Ukraine for a war of Russian aggression.
Our @TalbotTheology students in Kyiv live with the suffering and danger of this unjust war every day.
@realDonaldTrump, please use your influence with Putin to help bring this war to an end. Russia can stop its aggression today.
The distinction is simple:
If Russia stops fighting, the war ends. If Ukraine stops fighting, Ukraine ends.

The horror has come to our city: ICE has shot a person in Austin this morning.
As the facts emerge, I am demanding a full, independent investigation, immediate release of the body camera footage, and accountability for any ICE officer who broke the law.
Over and over, ICE has shot people and then lied about what happened. We can see the lies with our own eyes. We will demand truth, transparency and accountability.
