It just occurred to me that in all the years of church attendance in my past, I don't remember EVER encountering a Christian who said something like, "I really want to do bla bla bla for God." Or, "I'm preparing to do bla bla bla for God and it's going to take a while and even years to prepare but God willing someday I'll do this thing for God."
ONLY the professional paid Christians can talk like this. They can "vision cast" and relentlessly flog (as in marketing) their campaigns, books, real-estate expansion programs, proprietary Christian schools, academies, preacher intern programs, seminaries, etc. etc.
Then they yell from the pulpit: "Jesus did it all!" or "Beware of works salvation!" with very little context, even gaslighting (the real thing) the pew sitting Christian into thinking it's not their place to take any initiative to have any special purpose for God, or to prepare for a special purpose in the future. Or to put it biblically, upgrade from a vessel of wood or clay to a vessel of silver or gold.
Now I'm sure there are people like this out there. You perhaps? But why can't I remember ANYONE who ever spoke like that around me?
