He's right.
If you believe a lone racist gunman killed 3 people in Jacksonville, it's probably because you only learned a whitewashed version of history. But there is a reason why a white supremacist chose this specific location:
A thread
NAACP looked at Florida’s racist policies & issued a Florida travel warning for Black people in May. DeSantis called it a stunt.😐
Let’s be clear—this wasn’t a random terrorist attack, it was the inevitable predictable result of state sanctioned white supremacy.

Feels like a good time to remind folks that ~75% of K-9 deaths “in the line of duty” are due to heat injury from handlers leaving K-9s in hot, confined spaces.

This image breaks me. At 2.7 degrees of warming, which is our present policy trajectory, two billion people will be exposed to extreme heat.
99.7% of those people live in the global South. People who have done nothing to cause this crisis. The injustice is staggering.

When you see APD officers pulling up *masked* on #StopCopCity activities like the Brownwood Park raid during the last WOA… and I don’t mean like Covid safety masks, I mean Balaclavas— what do y’all think is the purpose? Intimidation? Anonymity? Undercovers hiding their ID?
"In Atlanta, there have been three waves of arrests and at least as many forest raids since December.... forty-two among them face domestic terrorism charges, which carry a mandatory minimum of five years of incarceration and a maximum of thirty-five."

One of the biggest challenges facing our educators is the fact that we are often the last line of defense against a myriad of issues other elements of our community *should* be handling. The middle school these kids go to has been filing reports of child labor since *2016*.

"While Cop City offers a material investment in Atlanta's police capacity, it is also an investment in a particular image of Atlanta that is friendly and welcoming to major events, tech and real estate capital, and middle and upper-class, white newcomers."
