The message from this week is clear: victims need better support, communities need stronger local responses, and agencies need the tools and resources to act early. ASB Awareness Week is coming to an end, but the call for action continues.. #MakingCommunitiesSafer

Thank you to everyone who has supported ASB Awareness Week 2026 💙 From frontline practitioners and local partnerships to housing teams, police, councils, fire and rescue services, charities and residents - your work matters a lot. There has been so much action this past week - hundreds of events, thousands of conversations, and millions of people who have been exposed to the campaign. We hope the focus will continue after this week. ASB should once again be a national priority. #ASBAwarenessWeek

📉Just 5% of UK adults say ASB levels have decreased compared to three years ago. #ASBAwarenessWeek may be a moment to raise awareness, but the work to make communities safer must continue . ❌The impact of ASB is not evenly distributed Some communities face higher levels of concern, fewer resources and more fragmented support. No one should receive poorer protection simply because of where they live, which is why Resolve are calling for guaranteed, universal support for victims of #ASB and direct funding for Community Safety Partnerships across the country. #ASBAwarenessWeek #PostcodeLottery

Young people are too often discussed only in relation to causing ASB, when very often they can be the silent victims of anti-social behaviour themselves. In fact, students are more likely to experience ASB than those in work. Effective prevention means providing support, opportunity and positive diversionary activity before behaviour escalates and harm is caused. #ASBAwarenessWeek #YoungPeople

🔥 Fire-related ASB is one of the most dangerous forms of anti-social behaviour. Deliberate fires can damage homes, vehicles, public spaces and the environment - and can put lives at risk. Strong local coordination and early intervention are essential to combat fire-related ASB. #MakingCommunitiesSafer #ASBAwarenessWeek #DeliberateFires

One of the clearest themes to have emerged from our research over the past five years is the need for earlier and more preventative responses to #ASB. Too often, agencies are forced to respond only problems have escalated significantly, by which point the impact on victims, communities and public services can already be severe. Early intervention can take many forms: youth engagement, mediation, family support, mental health support, tenancy sustainment, environmental improvements and neighbourhood outreach. Investment in prevention and early intervention is not only socially beneficial, but economically sensible. Identifying and addressing problems earlier can: ✅ Reduce long-term pressure on policing, housing providers, courts, health services and local authorities. ✅ Prevent ASB from happening in the first place ✅ Prevent ASB from escalating into more serious and costly harm #ASBAwarenessWeek #Recommendation

Community Safety Partnerships are uniquely placed to understand local challenges and coordinate effective responses to ASB. Greater funding would help resources reach the local frontline organisations best placed to make communities safer🤝 #ASBAwarenessWeek #MakingCommunitiesSafer

For victims experiencing persistent nuisance, harassment or intimidation, delays in legal proceedings can prolong harm. ⚖ Resolve is calling for a specialist housing court to streamline housing-related ASB cases and support faster, more consistent justice. Too often, important information about ASB is not shared effectively between agencies. This can lead to delays, duplication and missed opportunities to protect victims. Resolve is calling for one national information sharing agreement that any agency responding to #ASB can use to get the information they need for their case, when they need it. #MakingCommunitiesSafer #InformationSharing

The solutions are clear. 📢Resolve is calling for universal victim support, a specialist housing court, a national information sharing agreement, easier reporting, investment in early intervention and direct funding for Community Safety Partnerships. If you are experiencing ASB, you do not have to deal with it alone. Keep a record of incidents, report them through your local council, police or housing provider route, and ask what support is available. Persistent ASB should be taken seriously. #ASBAwarenessWeek #ReportASB

🚨Despite 39% of people saying they’d be more likely to report ASB if they were given clear information on how to do so (which echoes the results from the past four years’ worth of surveys) - just 6% of people recall seeing information about what to do as a victim or witness of ASB in the past three years (which also echoes the results from the past four years). If people don’t know how to report or where to get help, problems are less likely to be addressed early. Something as simple as a ‘This is how you report ASB’ on the back of a council tax bill could be easy and cheap to implement and highly impactful for reporting. #ASBAwarenessWeek #ReportASB

39% of people say they would be more likely to report ASB if they were given clear information on how to do so. Too many people still don’t know where to go, who to contact or what will happen next. There needs to be a standardised, clear and accessible way to report ASB. #ASBAwarenessWeek #MakingCommunitiesSafer #ReportASB
43
63% of victims and witnesses don’t report ASB, but 38% of people say they would be more likely to make a report if they could do so anonymously. Resolve is once again calling for a clear, accessible route to report ASB that allows victims and witnesses to make a report anonymously. For some victims and witnesses, fear of repercussions is a real barrier. Safer, clearer and more accessible reporting routes could help more people come forward. #ASBAwarenessWeek #MakingCommunitiesSafer

“Low-level” does not describe the reality for victims living with persistent ASB. It can mean fear, stress, sleepless nights, mental health impacts and feeling unsafe in your own home or neighbourhood. ASB that is persistent and seemingly never ending can often be the most harmful. #MakingCommunitiesSafer #ASBAwarenessWeek
