Good luck convincing me it’s biblical to be tolerant of Islam. Notice I didn’t say Muslims. I said Islam. If your religious texts prescribe commands to subjugate and kill people in the name of religious conformity, no Christian should excuse that. We are called to love people. We are not called to love bad ideology. Those who fail to make that distinction are doing grave damage to Christianity.

We never had a chance because the day after 9/11 Bush stood with the head of CAIR and said nonsense like Islam is a religion of peace. It is not. Qur’an 9:5: commands believers, after the sacred months, to “kill the polytheists wherever you find them,” capture them, besiege them, and lie in wait for them. Qur’an 9:29: commands believers to “fight those who do not believe in Allah or the Last Day” among the People of the Book until they pay jizya and are “subdued.” Qur’an 8:39: commands fighting “until there is no more fitnah and religion is entirely for Allah.” Qur’an 8:12: in a battle context, says to “strike [them] upon the necks and strike from them every fingertip.” Qur’an 47:4: “When you meet those who disbelieve [in battle], strike [their] necks” until they have been overcome. Qur’an 9:123: “Fight those adjacent to you of the disbelievers and let them find in you harshness.” Judaism: Isaiah 49:6: Israel/the Servant is appointed “a light to the Gentiles,” so God’s salvation may reach “unto the end of the earth.” Isaiah 2:2–3 / Micah 4:1–2: the direction is actually reversed from Matthew 28: the nations come to Zion to learn God’s ways: “many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD… and he will teach us of his ways.” Isaiah 56:6–7: foreigners who join themselves to the LORD are welcomed, culminating in “mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.” Zechariah 8:22–23: “many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem.” Christianity: Matthew 28:19 — “Go ye therefore, and teach [make disciples of] all nations, baptizing them…” We are not called to love ideologies that command conquer and subjugation. We are called to love people. Not all Muslims follow their religion. Not all Jews and Christians do either. But understand the difference between the God the Judeo-Christian west serves and the God Islam serves. It is not the same God. Not even close. Pretending otherwise is suicidal empathy. We are called to love people. Never poisonous ideologies.
