Made a backend for Dear ImGui for Sega Dreamcast.
I can’t believe it works.
Sadly, I don’t have a mouse/keyboard for the Dreamcast, but once I do, it’s going to make this thing even more incredible. 😂

You’re the typical loudmouthed loser on the internet.
You’re about ten years too early to be threatening me, you piece of trash.
And I’m no longer involved, so DON’T ASK ME FOR SHIT about TEKKEN.
Just sit there watching tournaments while your mommy holds you, you little shit.

Sony Xperia 1 VIII is so anti-2026.
It still has:
✅ 3.5 mm audio jack
✅ microSD card slot
✅ Thick bezels
✅ Traditional two-stage camera button
✅ A SIM/microSD card slot that doesn't need a SIM ejector tool
✅ Front-facing stereo speakers
✅ No intention of copying iPhone

One of my favorite childhood game series made it's way into VR! I use to play tons of Flatout 2 back on the PS2, but this was just unreal to see in the headset.
I didn't have high hopes originally, but man did this game deliver!

The PS3 days were such an interesting time in gaming.
For example, Burnout Paradise had this neat feature where you could plug in a webcam, and when you wreck someone it would send a photo of you to them, you could flip them off or point and laugh for a photo, or. As majority of players did, have it send a photo of your penis to the person you wrecked.
Not only would it send them that photo of your penis in game, it would also save it to their hard drive where you could then print it out via the print feature.

I’ve always had a bit of a pet peeve with the “emulation is good enough” crowd, and it really comes down to latency.
For many older consoles, although the raw FPS may be higher, the frame pacing can be ridiculously off compared to the original system.
When someone says XYZ game “felt better” on the real thing, it’s probably true! Not just nostalgia.
From what I’ve read, Dolphin (Wii/Gamecube emulation) is particularly good on the frame-pacing optimization side of things, likely helped by the competitive community. PCSX2 appears to be one of the toughest; the PS2 is a very tricky system to emulate!
To be fair, I don’t actually play games almost ever. But, if you’re interested in computer architecture, it makes a ton of sense. You’re literally trying to recreate the state machine + timings of multiple independent chipsets, interrupts, etc in a single x86 / ARM cpu!

Working on a series of new routines specialized for writing the contents of the 4x4 XMTRX active matrix registers into destination matrices stored within memory which have been over-aligned to 32 bytes, or the size of a single cache line on the Sega Dreamcast’s SH4 CPU.
This bad boy foregoes prefetching the destination cache lines with the PREF instruction, as is done for regular matrix alignment, and instead preallocates them using the MOVCA.L instruction before writing to them, which should eliminate a shitty pipeline stall that occurs on the SH4 when issuing a write with a prefetch in-flight.
The gist of the approach is guaranteed to be quite gainzy over prefetching with only the default 8-byte alignment requirements, but…
I cannot be sure that I’ve played an optimal round of SH4 ASM Tetris, hand-scheduling instructions to reduce pipeline stalls and maximize dual dispatch, until I get to my DC and profile this mofo using the cycle-accurate SH4 performance counters… 🤔
