If you are learning languages, yeah, @remnote is superior to anki. Import from anki was broken for me, and lack of batch actions/docs on batch action, but if you add cards manually (the only proper way) shouldn't be a big deal

It feels like @remnote has stopped marketing to the PKM crowd as much, so let me be the one to say it: RemNote is CLEARLY in the top 5-10 PKM tools money can currently buy.

“don’t just memorize, learn” learn what? The pattern. How are you recalling that pattern? By first remembering it. Human memory isn’t about regurgitating details it’s about imprinting deep implicit structures that drive what we observe. People don’t solve problems in the analytical sense (unless they’re trivial and unrealistic) they remember patterns, make analogies and create new syntheses.

So, I must admit I am not currently using @remnote, but I like the product. I was watching the video on their 1.16 update, and I am so impressed. The thing I love about the Remnote folks is that they get the value of Spaced Repetition Learning (SRS). I am a long-time fan of SRS, and just love the passion the Remnote team has for this special and productive way of learning. I don't think anyone else comes as close to the commitment and investment they have made. I may use Remnote just for its flashcard capabilities, even though I am happy to take notes in @obsdmd and @NotionHQ. I am not sure, but the Remnote team deserves praise for probably having one of the best SRS products on the market. This is ideal for students who need to integrate memorization into their studies (especially for medical, legal, and other highly technical jobs.) #srs #SpacedRepetition #TfT youtu.be/29idB6Ieoy0

Why is Magnus Carlsen the greatest chess player of all time? His exceptional memory. Show him a position in a game he played from 20 years ago, and he'll instantly identify the year, opponent, and the next best move. Expertise relies on excellent memory:

I feel like @remnote is the evolution of anki. The flashcards are fully integrated with your full notes and references. Anki's cards are on their own data island.

The basics are the most important pieces of information to make cards on! If you're building a knowledge tree, you don't want to build it on bad soil. It's high yield too - many details can then often be triangulated in your head or stored in your notes.
Every time I fail a spaced repetition review for a card which I remember thinking was almost too trivial to write down, I become more convinced that everything I read without making cards for is a waste of time.

The built-in FSRS is in beta-testing of @remnote! And another good news is, @Mart1nSchneider told me that they will support built-in optimizer. FSRS becomes more and more popular now.

They don't tell you this, but you can learn anything you want. You can literally take basic books and YouTube courses and just start brushing up on knowledge you feel is currently relevant to your journey. You can make flashcards from everything to optimize retention, too. Nobody can stop you from doing this. Nobody can stop you from becoming unstoppable.

Best focus song? > Weightless outperformed all other tested songs, reducing stress and anxiety levels by an impressive 65%. Its tranquilizing effect extended to key physiological markers: slower heart rate, lower blood pressure, reduced breathing. youtube.com/watch?v=qYnA9wWF…

I also use @rem_note where I can turn the content into flashcards. That way I can recall it at the right time.
