I was offered $95K. I asked for $110K. They came back with $105K.I accepted. The 30 seconds of discomfort asking for more earned me an extra $10K/year. This is where context matters; that's $50K over 5 years. For 30 seconds of awkwardness. Always negotiate. Always.
