This is my analysis of the SAVE Act. It started as a stunt by Mike Johnson to protect his speakership. It has evolved into a massive voter suppression bill. When it fails, Trump will escalate to something even more dangerous. Read and share. democracydocket.com/opinion/…

Tina Peters deserves every bit of justice that comes her way, if not for the irony of her crimes alone. She conspired to tamper with election systems and steal voting data to try to prove that the 2020 election was stolen. Whatever safeguards are in place worked because she was convicted on seven different state charges. Even if she managed to accomplish her goal, she still would have committed multiple crimes and It wouldn't have proven a damn thing. Whether the 2020 election was stolen didn't hinge on the success of her paranoia-driven mission. The only reason Trump is showing her clemency is because she is an election denier. But Trump can't pardon Tina Peters due to her state convictions. Is this a performative stunt, or a public display of Trump's ignorance? Ignorant or not, he has issued many actual pardons to criminals who meet a certain set of criteria. The corruption and hypocrisy is just baffling: While Trump was committing extrajudicial murders outside the US under the guise of combating drug smuggling, he also simultaneously pardoned the former Honduran president who trafficked massive amounts of cocaine into the US. Trump has also issued pardons to all of his named co-conspirators who plotted with him to overturn the election. Trump tried justifying his pardons to the roughly 1,600 Jan 6th rioters by referring to their actions as "very minor incidents." Most of those pardoned, including leaders of domestic extremist groups, participated in the attack. These violent MAGA yahoos intended to disrupt the certification of the election. They clashed violently with police, they broke windows, they vandalized offices, and they stole government property. The attack exceeded $2.8 million in damages. Over 140 police officers were assaulted that day by rioters carrying firearms, tasers, knives, and chemical and makeshift weapons like bear spray, flagpoles and baseball bats. Officer Brian Sicknick died of a stroke after being hospitalized for injuries he sustained from the rioters. Multiple officers committed suicide days after the attack and many more suffered from psychological trauma and physical injuries. One particular heinous example includes Michael Fanone, a DC police officer who was beaten within an inch of his life. He wasn't on duty that day but still responded to radio calls for assistance. After he reached the Capitol, the rioters dragged him down the steps, sprayed chemicals in his face, beat him and tazed him repeatedly while telling him that they were going to "kill him with his own gun." All Fanone could do at the time was plead with his attackers to not kill him because he "has kids." He suffered from burns, a concussion, traumatic brain injury and a heart attack. He retired and testified at the Jan 6 trial. His family received a barrage of violent threats following his whole traumatic ordeal; forcing him to seek out a protective order. The man who tased him, Daniel Rodriguez, mobilized a group of extremists online, told them to bring weapons with them to the Capitol where he said he would "hang Congress." After he tazed Fanone, he wrote in a group chat, "tazed the f-ck out of the blue." Rodriguez was pardoned... The Trump regime is plagued by rampant cronyism. Loyalty is a priority in Trump's circle and plays a major role in securing power and influence within his administration. Loyalty also comes in the form of political and financial contributions, which Trump takes into account when considering an act of clemency for someone. Not to mention whether such a person has knowledge that could implicate Trump in a scandal and/or crime. Trump has issued pardons to domestic extremists, financial pariahs and frauds; obscenely rich conmen; drug traffickers and smugglers; foreign agents; money launderers; dirty cops; politically corrupt lackeys and co-conspirators; signaling to his supporters, his political allies and his rich benefactors that they can commit crimes with impunity.

Poland won't applaud Trump’s vanity project, the Nobel Peace Prize. Today a major diplomatic row broke out between the U.S. and Poland because Włodzimierz Czarzasty (the Speaker of the Sejm) took a very public stand against Donald Trump. The catalyst was a formal request from U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson and Israeli Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, asking international leaders to co-sign a nomination for Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. Czarzasty flatly refused. U.S. Ambassador Tom Rose responded by blacklisting Czarzasty, declaring that the U.S. Embassy would have "no further dealings, contacts, or communications" with him effective immediately. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk joined the fray, telling the U.S. Ambassador that "allies should respect, not lecture, each other. Roman Giertych then wrote a letter (see in the comments), escalating the rhetoric by comparing the demand for the Nobel Prize to the vanity of the Emperor Nero. Here is what Włodzimierz Czarzasty said: Włodzimierz Czarzasty: ā€œBuilding new platforms like the 'Peace Council' by the United States is, in my opinion, deceptive. We must strengthen the European Union, NATO, the UN, and the WHO. Our security lies there. President Trump, in my opinion, destabilises these organisations by representing a policy of force and conducting transactional politics. This often breaks principles, values, and international law. His interpretation of history—for example, regarding the participation of Polish soldiers on missions—and his instrumental treatment of other territories, like Greenland, means I will not support the Nobel request for President Trump. He does not deserve it."

🚨🚨🚨 THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY UNDER KRISTI NOEM IS TRYING TO FORCE TECH GIANTS TO EXPOSE TRUMP CRITICS 🚨🚨🚨 Department of Homeland Security ran by Kristi Noem has been quietly using administrative subpoenas to try to make major tech companies hand over data on people who criticize Donald Trump or post about immigration enforcement without court oversight or warrants. These demands have targeted anonymous accounts documenting ICE activity, seeking login details and potentially identifying private individuals. Civil liberties groups say this could chill free speech and intimidate critics. Tech firms aren’t legally obligated to comply and some are pushing back. America, I would be extremely concerned with this!

Excuse me, but are there no republican congresspeople who are embarrassed to support a blatantly corrupt president? Who are you? What do you stand for? Autocracy & kleptocracy? This is truly embarrassing for the US.

Thomas Massie just exposed that Trump is threatening to ā€œruinā€ his supporters’ businesses if they fund his campaign. ā€œI’m not talking about IRS audits.ā€ ā€œIt’s bigger than that.ā€ ā€œHere’s what happens behind the scenes … ā€ First, Trump allies are coercing Massie’s consultants into quitting his re-election campaign: ā€œThree of my consultants have quit on my campaign, all three for the same reason.ā€ ā€œThey were told: your other 30 clients will fire you if you keep working for Massie.ā€ ā€œThey make it hard to hire people.ā€ ā€œI really love the consultants I got now, because they’re the ones who said: screw you, I’m gonna work for Massie brcause I believe in what he’s doing, and I’m good enough at my job, I’ll go find some other clients if you clowns fire me.ā€ Second, Trump allies are threatening to ā€œruinā€ Massie supporters’ businesses by abusing state power: ā€œI’ve got 15,000 donors across the United States. My average donation is $80.ā€ ā€œIs that because I don’t want millionaires to give to a super PAC and to help me?ā€ ā€œNo. I’ll take all the help I can get.ā€ ā€œThe problem is, if you’ve reached some degree of success where you have a million-dollar disposable income, you probably can’t afford to tick off this administration, or they will come at your business.ā€ ā€œYou won’t get the permits you need to do the business.ā€ ā€œOver the MAGA split and on foreign policy, there are people of great means … who could put money in my race and post up against the Israel First billionaires.ā€ ā€œBut they’re staying on the sidelines, because their business will get ruined.ā€ This is why Marjorie Taylor Greene left Washington. The Trump administration is abusing its power and influence to crush populist, America First voices in the Republican Party. @jimmy_dore @RepThomasMassie @FmrRepMTG
