Journalistic integrity doesn't exist when it comes to headlines (Twitter and elsewhere). They never seem to match the content of the articles themselves and pander for engagement and fast takes to increase that profit.

When a little man comes up to you while at your retail job and asks you you weight, height and bra size don't question it. Just answer him. He might be the next Bob Mackie. In my case? It WAS Bob. I spent the next two hours with him trying on sleepwear and bras. RIP. Nice man.

A good overview of a non-issue.
So like… I’ve been really quite on the Enis Kanter stuff… but The WNBA does test for synthetic testosterone and natural testosterone as part of their drug testing… and from my understanding uses the Olympic guidelines for what “normal” levels are… You test outside of the normal you get suspended for 20 games… then they test you again and you get suspended for a season… then they test you again and you get expelled… The league has an awesome therapy and help program for people who fail the tests, but the rules are black and while. Any artificial testosterone, you’re suspended, abnormal natural testosterone, you’re suspended. This entire talking point is so tiring because unless people are taking hormone blockers… the WNBA drug policy will kind of keep things competitively fair… Oh also most of the hormone blockers are also on the banned list… as are all of the steroid maskers, and diuretics to fool tests blockers or drugs… Heck if you want to take ADHD meds you need like multiple doctors letters and an independent panel of physicians rules on if they can. It just feels like this is a lot of time spent talking about a person that theoretically would just get suspended and then expelled for blood test failures. Also the full drug policy can be found in the CBA, as is the list of banned substances, penalties for failure. People can find the Olympic guidelines in their rule book as well… If anyone wants to talk about the actual game, or needs a pod guest to talk about this league exploding in popularity, my DMs are always open. I’m pretty open over the FIBA break.

Yet another reason why Jeff is problematic.
Kanter Freedom: So they're lying. Because the GM of the Chicago Sky was actually my trainer. We actually texted him and said hey we are going to come to the game—we want peace, nothing controversial…

This clip is such a great example of a traditional Chicago accent.

This is just one of several stories we learned this week from Pope Leo XIV’s friend of 43 years, Augustinian Fr. Tom McCarthy.

Great thread. I had a similar experience at the March on Washington as a young activist working for a political lobby to get more engagement with elected officials to support LGBTQ legislation and was constantly harassed by a certain segment for working within the "system."
I can pinpoint the exact moment that the American “left” lost me. In April 1993, I joined the March on Washington for LGBT Rights. The whole “Q+” wasn’t really a thing, though the term “queer” wasn’t what it means today. It didn’t include such things as “straight people who

In recent years, many young people have approached the faith through social media, successful programs and popular online Christian witnesses. The danger is that a faith discovered online is limited to individual experiences, which may be intellectually and emotionally reassuring, but never “embodied.” Such experiences remain “disembodied,” detached from the “ecclesial body.”

This is the way. See something? Immediately start to record and be loud.
Angry crowds have been following and chasing ICE through Chicago. It seems like a tactic that’s worked for protesters — I saw about two dozen people get this ICE truck to speed away in Humboldt Park yesterday. It had been parked outside a daycare, then a plant store.

Chicago today. This happened on the other end of my neighborhood. ICE got intimidated by a scooter and decided to use tear gas as a first response.

Here’s the video that Andrew Denton took while he was getting lunch. Denton said that agents had been stopped there for less than a minute and that aside from people yelling at them, “no one was attacking the agents.” “There was no reason for them to that,” he said.

Isn't it the job of the media to report the higher prices?
Biden refused to create news, so all the news was about high prices. Trump's always making news, so the news is never about his even higher prices xitter.cf/SpencerHakimian/status…

One of the best tweets ever.
Remember the name: Paige Bueckers. 6th grade, think Diana Taurasi. Best 6th grade G I've ever seen. St. Louis Park.

I wonder if the Sky Front Office and some of the players realize how badly they fumbled?
Love the 5 support from team Rose😭🌹

One "reporter" takes another journalists work and twists it to fit a narrative hardly seems like a reason to bench a player.
If anyone wants to see, plain and clear, how Annie lacked integrity (journalistic and otherwise) and didn’t act w/ positive intent, the evidence is below (and on the clock app) tiktok.com/t/ZT6WWECLt/

Great thread that highlights some realities in sports history.
Economics of Sports was one of my favorite classes in undergrad so let’s break down the WNBA revenue split. Start here: WNBA players take home 9% of league revenue. NBA/NFL/NHL players get nearly 50%. Even MLS players get 25–30%.

A defensively minded team exceeding expectations early in the season! Reminds of the @chicagosky last year.
Asked Natalie Nakase about Lisa Leslie praising the Valkyries as a “Dark horse.” “Respect to Lisa Leslie, she’s a hall of famer and the GOAT. We try not to listen to outside noise. We try to control what we can control.“ Emphasized they aren’t the #1 defense in the league yet.

When are Tyler/Jeff going to wake up? As a starter or with heavy minutes, Nurse has 4 3PM on 11 3PA and 7 turnovers in 1st quarter play so far this season. She puts them in a hole that's hard to dig out of.

First AR game without an offensive rebound in her WNBA career. That's shocking. And way was KC benched during an All-Star voting period when she was on track for a 30+ point game?
