I dont think he began smoking just to get dottore's attention (that feels very ooc to me ngl 😭) he prob started doing it to fit in with the other nobles and rich ppl when he started climbing up the ranks cuz smoking was seen as a rich ppl thing back in the day

I feel like we’re insane as a collective for barely ever mentioning the fact that Pantalone already had a period of time (4 years) when he quit smoking, probably right after OG Zandik’s death. He started to smoke at 26, 175-145= 30

Deny it however you want, pantalone as feofan without the fatui is relevant to Zandik’s life whether you like it or not. You cant erase his presence or simplify it to “white man that ties zandik to that organization”
