But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.

Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter. For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? 1 Pet 2:16-17

If you believe this stuff, I mean *really* believe this stuff, to the point of actually wanting to worship and live accordingly, you are an outcast and outlaw. The world already hates you, other Christians will mostly hate you, family and friends won't understand.
In what world is there any "ease and appeal" with being convictionally Presbyterian and Reformed in 2026?

If I as a minister twisted someone's words this badly I would probably be deposed.
Christian Nationalists believe the gospel is a “category error” and shouldn’t govern every aspect of your life. They’re pretty open about it now. But, per usual, they’ll claim either you don’t understand them or aren’t serious.

(Actually, if I did it in service of the zeitgeist, I might be OK)

The PCA must resist the ease and appeal of planting churches that primarily attract Christians looking for a Presbyterian and Reformed church as opposed to planting churches that reach non-Christians who are converted and formed to be P&R.

I'm thankfully over a decade happily removed from the dating pool. Good thing because from this it sounds like the only way to date a young woman in this environment is to become one.
Attention Young Men: I am surrounded by 20 year old girls in my life that are smart, capable, hard working and cute. Nobody is dating them. Not sure what the deal is, but I don’t get it. Step 1: Stop playing video games Step 2: Head to great clips and get that lettuce cleaned up Step 3: Hit a shower (when dating hygiene is critical) Step 4: Go clean your car Step 5: Sign up for a yoga class Step 6: Go to the yoga class Step 7: Ask a cute for her phone number at yoga class (yes you can meet girls IRL and not just on the apps - 10/10 the Dirt Dog highly recommends) Step 8: Follow up within 2 days with a phone call and ask them out for this coming weekend Friday or Saturday night. Step 9: IMPORTANT - come up with a good game plane for date night. Get a dinner reservation, get an activity planned. Let them know in advance what you are doing so they can dress appropriately. I know you are gunna roll off the couch and head to date night, but they are not. They are going to stress about what to wear and call at least 6 different people on FaceTime to ask their opinion. Step 10: I highly recommend you bring flowers to the door step. I’m not covering that you go to the doorstep, because if you don’t do that you have no hope here. Women want men to date them. You don’t need to break the bank on flowers. Head to Trader Joe’s. Grab 2 different kinds of flowers. If you don’t know what matches find the closest looking lady to your mom at TJ’s and ask her. Wrap the 2 flowers into 1 bouquet with paper. Bonus Points you can cut open a TJ bag and use that as the paper. Step 11: Be a gentleman on the date. She isn’t there to hear your life story. Ask her about her. For every 1 question you answer, ask her 3. Open Doors, pay for the meal, be polite. Provided you follow most of this guideline you are highly likely to get yourself an opportunity for date number 2. Keep going until you find someone that you can’t imagine not being around all the time. That’s when you have found a good one for you. My life is complete with my wife as my companion. I wish you the same fortune in life. Happy Hunting.

The world has awakened to find itself antinomian, and many of the Reformed "leading men" have been the culprits. xitter.cf/ZacharyGarris/status/2…

This guy is a perfect example of why men turn to the mansophere.

We need a Protestant sermon beforehand to urge the condemned man to fly to Christ, at once; to remind the spectators that they, too, will one day perish; and that biblical justice is a good thing for the land.

I have spent enough of my life in the church to know that you will find every kind of sin and corruption inside the church as you will outside. The differences are: 1) Ppl in the church don't expect to find it there 2) The perpetrators often know about 1) and use it to hide.

3) The church today is often distracted into chasing down false sin and corruption, which makes the real stuff still easier to hide/escape.

I don't say this to disparage the church. She has the words of life. Love her and go to her. But do not be naïve.

The Reformed said that the old and new covenants are the “same in substance but different in administration.” Some today like Horton and Perkins adopt this phrase—but by introducing a “works principle” or “republication” of the covenant of works in the Mosaic covenant, they use the phrase differently from earlier theologians. They follow not the Westminster view of the Mosaic covenant, but in fact one of the minority Reformed views.

It is a great injustice that not only is the death penalty nearly extinct in our society but when it is done it is so far removed from the circumstances that necessitate it that it becomes entirely ineffective as a deterrent and public administration of justice.

This woman was on death row for nearly 30 (!) years. She caved in a woman's skull with a piece of asphalt and carved satanic images into her. A few years later she tried to kill another inmate. She has justly forfeited her right to live.

But since it takes 30 years for justice to be served, justice is essentially denied. Her atrocities are so distant and forgotten that she now gets to be the victim, and even a rallying point for more similar failures of justice. And so blood continues to pollute the land.

Voetius—one of the leading Dutch Reformed theologians—said the view that the Sabbath is abolished was that of the Mennonites (anabaptists) and Socinians (heretics). So much for the claim that the “continental Reformed” weren’t Sabbatarian.
