Thames Water is talking about a temporary renationalisation to pay their debts. This must not be allowed, there is no temporary, if they are nationalised it is GAME OVER, goodbye shareholders. RT if we must not be made to pay their debts for nothing.

“What normally happens is that there’s a period of backlash, but if the council has the balls—as Waltham Forest did - to stick with it then people forget they ever hated it and they never want to see it gone, so a lot of it is about political leadership.” forbes.com/sites/carltonreid…

SOS we are fighting to save this Right of Way along the River Irwell at Ralli Quays. Planning Permission has been given to close the path and divert the path through a hotel lobby (!) which will not be fully accessible to the public. #OurIwell 🧵please RT + share 1/some

Good to see these exciting plans for the Parsonage Road area in Withington, Manchester, just released. Lots to like - there is a drop-in event to find out more on 15 June. parsonage-road-safer-streets… (Funding for 10 of these in GM approved in 2019 - some moved faster than others) – at Manchester, England

Thread: spent the last week in Copenhagen and it was very nice Pretty much all roads of any meaningful width have protected cycle lanes, with all the good stuff from continuity past side roads, bus stop bypasses & lovely resting rails All made easier by surprisingly wide roads

This is the equivalent of when they shout at us in the street "Cheer up Love. Give us a smile" And if Angela smiles in the chamber? She's flirting. Solidarity Angela. You snarl girl. 💅
During the speeches made by the proposers of the Queen's Speech today, light-hearted, good-natured fun is traditionally poked at the Opposition. Not once did Angela #Rayner break into a smile, just sat there and sulked.

Our initial analysis of the Shared Prosperity Fund not looking promising for the north... Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region and Tees Valley will all see cuts of more than a third 📉

Wonderful to meet @LDADesign at the new Alfred Place Gardens. Incredible transformation in partnership with @CamdenCouncil. Who’s going to do the next street to park transformation? I promise they’re before & after pictures, not renders

Who would have imagined, even 5 years ago, the City of London having 15mph speed limits in place?

When this scheme in Orford Road #WFMiniHolland 1st opened, folks marched a coffin here predicting death of trade on this street. Several businesses here said losing parking out front would end them. That was 8 years ago. This was a mild March Sunday. Change is hard but worth it. – at Walthamstow, London

While we all wait: govt quietly published its background analysis on the Integrated Rail Plan overnight. It shows: - the North's plan would have added more capacity & more connectivity - no full economic analysis was done... - ...but it cost too much manchestereveningnews.co.uk/…
