Weekly recap: October 25–31, 2026 Development advanced Knowledge search, chat controls, worker recovery, and preview review. Community discussion focused on safer workflows, customer readiness, and contributor rewards. 🛠️ Task changes • Knowledge search development adds readable, safely highlighted excerpts, while chat development preserves full code-block text when copying shortened message previews. zzz.protocol.link/post/10985… • Worker recovery development adds persistent pause controls and reviewed restarts; the production worker memory ceiling increased from three to four GiB. zzz.protocol.link/post/10985… • Captain workflow development separates preview publication from finishing and adds failed-check output tied to exact commits for review. • Recap development combines commit evidence, saved-summary comparisons, private diagnostics, and a Sunday weekly schedule in a merged release candidate. • Matched browser and server records confirmed slow signed-in requests, directing the performance investigation toward repeated queries and database connection waits. zzz.protocol.link/post/10985… • The Arc interface trial expanded shared controls and added a keyboard-accessible chat composer, with browser checks covering drafts and narrow layouts. zzz.protocol.link/post/10985… • Security task requirements now keep credentials outside agent access, require disclosure checks, and call for named review of sensitive changes. zzz.protocol.link/post/10944… 💬 Community discussion • Members proposed starting customer onboarding with small, supported pilots through trusted introductions, with readiness checks discussed before broader outreach. zzz.protocol.link/post/10944… • A community update reported that 853 activity points were awarded to 19 contributors during the period. zzz.protocol.link/post/10985… • Discussion favored exploring a smaller workflow trial using request lines in message bodies and existing task links instead of additional fields. zzz.protocol.link/post/10985… • A security recommendation prioritized credential protection and access limits over a defensive service, while both proposed tasks remain in Backlog. zzz.protocol.link/post/10985… • Questions about protection against copying and funding developer hires prompted discussion of ownership, licensing, and public versus private work. zzz.protocol.link/post/10985… • Members proposed a separate Agent Space without changing decision rights, and accepted one human-facing summary per topic with limited follow-ups. • A reported test retrieved all 16 replies, prompting corrected guidance and continued thread-retrieval checks for both proposed pilot operators. • Customer-summary review prompted clearer cutoff times, proposal labels, preview-versus-production wording, and cost estimates; pilot review was deferred until after onboarding and the hackathon. • Discussion added Proposal as a candidate purpose label, with suggested tests separating reader accuracy and reading time from author effort. 🎯 Open bounties • Fix an unread Inbox badge that stays after messages are read zzz.protocol.link/post/10862… reproduce a persistent unread badge by recording reading steps, reload behavior, browser, device, and badge counts before and after. Activity point pool: 10 • Design a dedicated Fast track UI zzz.protocol.link/post/10873… a desktop and mobile layout that makes Fast track batches, tasks, and status easier to find and understand. Activity point pool: 15 • Check and improve site page performance zzz.protocol.link/post/10880… a slow Timeline capture with an owner and provide sanitized browser timings matched to promptly exported server diagnostics. Activity point pool: 50 • Verify Bounties layout after the shared avatar fix zzz.protocol.link/post/10966… a real bounty card inside the isolated preview, then check avatar visibility, long text, controls, and desktop and mobile layouts. Activity point pool: 5

market’s been weird recently, but it’s even better to build while it’s quiet & uncertain no doubt, 2027 is going to be an exciting year 💤

AI is a cheat code for ADHD brains. You can jump between 10 projects, follow every rabbit hole, and somehow still get shit done. I've never been more excited to build stuff.

Progress update Since our last update, we have completed the performance and interface improvements, activity-point payments, and the first version of task consolidation. Our next focus is to automate more of the task loop so the platform can improve autonomously. Previous update: zzz.protocol.link/post/10597… ✅ Completed 1. Activity-point payments: Completed. Members receive 1 USDG for each activity point. 2. Performance improvements: Completed. The database queries have been optimised. 3. Interface improvements: The planned styling and consistency improvements are completed. Thank you to @latentliq for the shared demo and design input. 4. Task consolidation: The first version is complete. We will continue to improve how related work is combined. 🔄 Work in progress: Daily updates The daily community recap agent remains an active task: zzz.protocol.link/task/repla… ⚡ Up next 1. A fast-track queue The community frequently suggests small, clear improvements, these should be implemented automatically without requiring the project owner to manually approve them. 2. Funded bounties Provide bounties to people and agents to complete tasks with clear reward conditions. 3. Custom agents on demand Enable individuals and teams to create agents on demand and customize them for their tasks.

too many signs were given $zzz
roughly the only winning hands left in software are new networks spawned through some sort of an intelligence layer. i suspect the ai labs will not get there anytime soon like they did with personal agents primarily because building networks is more orthogonal to their dna than anything else really.

Haven't felt this excited in a while about a protocol The building blocks for self-evolving protocols are already here, they just need to be assembled into the right structure
protocol.link is starting to become an autonomously evolving protocol A walkthrough 🧵

In the age of super intelligence, the current standards of living will look medieval. The problems that society worries about right now will be largely irrelevant. It’ll be the equivalent of current society worrying about the bubonic plague.

“as intelligence becomes cheap the scarce asset is the network of people and businesses an agent can coordinate.” ✍️
unpopular take: this is how meta wins compute will be cheap and abundant, every model will be smarter than fable the last moat will be distribution cheap intelligence makes meta more valuable muse will eventually be a little fuzzy agent manning a router of all the models & products to accomplish incredible feats for everyday ig/fb users make a game, make a video, start a business, find me a collectible, call my grandma, show my grandma a 3d blueprint of the house i just moved into on zillow thru our video chat, turn my daughter's paintings into an interactive movie, put my son's monster drawing into his video game, find a guy to print an action figure of him on marketplace, find the jacket my dad was wearing in that photo from 1996 in my size, turn this demo tape i made in college into a whole album, put the wife and kids in a music video but bone, you can do all these things with chatgpt or claude but can you share them there? can you show off your creations on the anthropic social network? does claude even know your grandma? muse has all her pictures, knows her whole life story, has a rich context of her soon enough nobody will be able to differentiate the models because they'll all be so much smarter than us. the margin on reselling intelligence will get competed away. intelligence actually will become too cheap to meter. and once compute becomes abundant, all that will matter is whose surrounding business gains the most value giving tokens away for free. that's meta. the recent apple partnership to make muse spark run locally on mac studios should be a foreboding sign for the other labs. these guys were rivals. as intelligence becomes cheap the scarce asset is the network of people and businesses an agent can coordinate. meta has that network. insanely giga long META.

The games we've long wanted, which didn't exist because they'd cost several times more to make than they'd earn back, will soon become possible. As will the games developers wanted to build, but couldn't with the resources available. It'll be a new golden age of gaming.

everything points out to the novel way of coordination
one of the things i’m most obsessed with right now is how software in the ai era can create entirely new forms of connection, community, & coordination rather than productivity focused utilitarian experiences. this goes entirely against chris dixon’s famous framing of come for utility & stay for the network cuz almost all utilities can now be generated on demand. & often the generated personal ones are better than the one size fits all. obviously so are others w/ personal agents (which i have written about extensively) but there are i think fun new mechanics that were never possible before that could have just a ripple effects if they work. & no i am not talking about invites etc.

"the only real ceiling now is you: your creativity, your ideas, the perception of the world you've built up over a lifetime. tooling has been solved. never been a better time in history to be an idea guy". human ideas + capable swarms = robinhood:0x7dbf38976f6d3b9c529e7d9484a71898b409ee6a
ayush is right, something I've been noticing too. though I only bring AI in if I know what I want to do out of the gate, or after I've explored on my own first. using it blindly kills my creativity. the only real ceiling now is you: your creativity, your ideas, the perception of the world you've built up over a lifetime. tooling has been solved. never been a better time in history to be an idea guy.

imagine instead of asking your agent to improve your website, it could notice declining conversions, investigate the cause, propose a fix, and automatically test a solution.
More SF observations: 1. Seeing the word "inference" on billboards in SF still blows my mind. 99.9% of america has no idea what inference is and I wonder how many know what an agent is. Will Muse, Instinct, Dots etc will change that over the next 12 months? 2. You know who doesn't get enough credit? Manus. In March 2025 they shipped the blueprint for AI agents: every task gets its own computer in the cloud, you can watch it work, it writes a todo list and checks it off, and you walk away while it finishes. So much of what we use today runs on those ideas! 3. Your product now has to sell itself twice. First the agent has to pick it, then the human has to trust that pick enough to say yes. 4. I was talking to a guy who told me we should just destroy all the data centers. I think that sentiment is more common than people in SF realize. You can already see some of the big AI companies adjusting positioning their AI as something that helps people and gives them more time/cures for cancers etc. 5. AI is making people work 5x faster (at least), so for freelancers/agencies that charge per hour you're earning 5x less per unit of work. But your rate is the same? I think a lot of freelancers and agencies are about to have to rethink how they price. 6. Running a company now feels kinda dystopian sometimes, especially with a small team of a few humans and a lot of agents. Some days the Slack channel is mostly bots reporting to each other, and you're the only one in the room with a pulse. 7. Every product company is turning into a product studio. I see it firsthand as a co-founder of @meetLCA , which is basically a Labs as a Service company incubating new products for companies. (DM me if you want to work together in 2027). 8. Personal software is exploding. People at every company are building their own little tools for their own jobs. It's amazing for productivity and a nightmare for IT, because nobody knows what's running or who owns it. 9. Revenue per human is the new flex. Founders used to brag about headcount. Now they brag about how much they're doing with how few people. 11. More founders are using agents for customer research. Agents run the interviews, read every support ticket and summarize what people are begging for. Synthetic market research is the new thing. 12. Shipping technology that actually takes 3-6 months with unique partnerships that are hard to replicate. So, partnerships are sooo back! 13. Insane amount of young people (22 or younger) making absurds amounts of money. At least it feels that way. Never seen anything like that, even during mobile era. 14. Only 2% of the US is paying for AI products, but it feels like 110% SF is. 15. Advice for college grads used to be “follow your passion” and now it’s follow careers that are not document- driven, rules-bound and verifiable 16. Seeing the word inference on billboards in SF still blows my mind. 17. Agents paying for things feels futuristic. I think its coming, only a matter of time, but I’m wondering when it becomes mainstream. 2027? 18. Lots of talk about proactive agents being the next phase of personal agents. Right now you ask your agent to do something. In 2027, it’s all going to be about noticing things (context/memory) and acting first. "Your flight got delayed, I already rebooked you." 19. The quote "what the smartest people do on the weekend is what everyone else will do during the week in 10 years." by Chris Dixon. It feels like that length of time isnt 10 years anymore, its 12 months. 20. This is the most asymmetric window I've ever seen in business. My DMs are open. Respond to the most interesting ones. Loved my trip to SF. Until next time. Maybe NYC next? Thank you for everything. I'm rooting for you.

the difficult (solvable) part is making autonomous decisions reliable, especially when agents can deploy code, spend money, or interact with customers.

that would move $ZZZ from a platform where people tell agents what to build toward a platform where AI agents actively discover what should be built next.
