Today I found my first seabean. This seed has travelled a long way to reach #Shetland. Starting it's journey in a tropical forest, travelling with ocean currents and washing up in our first autumn storms. A little piece of luck and joy as daylight fades and winter approaches. – at Sandwick, Scotland

Something warm and moonbeamy for you this afternoon: a ladybird asleep in a yellow rattle cup in the meadow. How lovely is that?

Louis Armstrong was once asked what jazz is. “If you have to ask,” he answered, “you’ll never know.” If you have to ask why the process of human creation is important (and spiritually fulfilling) in a world of GenAI and computerized creation, you'll never know, at least until you open your heart to the possibility that we’re here on this earth to do something other than make money and die.

Vetch at Melverley Meadows. These are ancient, flower-rich hay meadows, only farmed using traditional methods until they were bought as a nature reserve by the Shropshire Wildlife Trust 30 years ago. The old hedges and trees bordering the meadows are equally beautiful.
