Amid the cinephiles' lofty debates about truth and art, it's worth listening to @TylerShultz_'s take on the film and on Elizabeth.
Elizabeth Holmes is “almost unrecognizable” in Nathan Fielder’s documentary, “You Can See Everything,” to Theranos whistleblower Tyler Shultz: “The woman that I saw on screen looked, frankly, like a broken woman.”
Shultz tells @gayleking and @norahodonnell about his reaction to the film, speaking out about Theranos in 2015 and why the documentary is garnering sympathy for Holmes, who is serving a more than 11-year prison sentence for defrauding investors: “She is not playing victim. She is an actual victim.”
“You Can See Everything” is everything the trailer suggested and way more.
My palms were sweaty for the entire last hour. Pretty sure I was staring at the screen, mouth agape, like a chimp that just discovered fire.
Woman in row behind us, after it ended: “I need a cigarette.”

New at Flatwater: One wannabe Omaha homebuyer went hunting for housing solutions. She found little houses in Benson, cash incentives in North Platte and a midwest city that just kept building.
Could these solutions make a difference for Nebraskans?

Wildly excited to read this.
Nebraska, I’m excited to announce a project 6 months (and arguably a few decades) in the making. Coming in November, my new book:
SWEET DREAMS: The agonizing struggle and euphoric awakening of Nebraska basketball.
Here’s the preorder link.

Based on 100+ hours of interviews, this 250-page hardcover is the most comprehensive account of Husker basketball ever. But it's not just a history book. It's also a Fred Hoiberg biography. And an in-depth narrative of the 2025-26 season. The book features hundreds of amazing photos. It'll look fantastic.
I’m beyond grateful to have the opportunity. I’ve wanted to tackle this project for years -- just ask Kent Pavelka -- but the timing wasn't right until Nebraska’s breakthrough season, culminating with the epic weekend in OKC.
I’ll have much more to say (and many more thank-yous) as we get closer. But for now, preorder and you can save $10 off the cover price. In November, you'll get the book shipped straight to you.

Thanks.

This story is an investigative tour de force revealing eye-watering DC corruption and ensnaring powerful politicians of both parties.
It’s the sort of thing that federal investigators are supposed to probe and prosecute, not ignore at the behest of any president.
New: In late 2024, FBI investigators had enough evidence to launch a sweeping bribery probe that could ensnare top lawmakers, including Sen. Susan Collins. Then Trump was reelected and eviscerated the FBI and DOJ teams handling public corruption probes. propub.li/4yLLwaF

Interesting follow-up story from Andrew about a person some Nebraskans may remember for her biofuels work and no-bid contract.
In early 2024, Julie Bushell was lobbying state leaders to buy technology that state experts didn't believe in.
By summer, she had a no-bid contract and seemed poised to get another one, records obtained by @flatwaterfreep show.
