tv rips are commonly shared in the worst quality ever, so even tho a lot of tv was broadcast in standard definition (which is good! in digital at a good bitrate) and 50 or 60hz a lot of recordings especially if done on that weird early dvd recorder era sometimes with analog sources are re-encoded down from that to like 360p at 30fps with cock deinterlacing so yeah old tv didn’t look like that it looked way better
