For Christians, the poor are not a sociological category, but the very ‘flesh’ of Christ. Christ, poor and crucified, continues to allow Himself to be encountered and loved through these men and women, who call us to go beyond ourselves and to dare to practice charity. #ApostolicJourney #France vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/e…

“AI is not going anywhere” is a PR line from a gen AI company press release that’s trying to make their bad broken technology seem inevitable. It’s bullshit. Please stop repeating it.
Keke Palmer opens up about her thoughts on AI:
"The climate stuff is worrying and concerning, but then there’s the reality that it’s not going anywhere. So I find myself trying to figure out how to be prepared, how to create things that protect the environment, be a part of things that are making it ethical. But I’m also understanding how it’s democratizing a lot of spaces for people that otherwise couldn’t reach them. So it’s weird. It can be so positive, but it also can be so damaging."

Seen a number of posts about a shortchanging of the frame composition in the non imax-70 formats, and I think people miss that filming in the IMAX film camera format creates a quality in the exposed image that makes its way into every single presentation format.
This will undoubtedly be one of the best looking (if not at least unique looking) pictures ever filmed and that will be true regardless of where you see it if your screen is functioning.

Sen. Kaine: If you’re a trans kid watching this hearing… there is some intentional effort to make you feel bad about yourself, but you have a lot of people who love you. You have a lot of people who support you. … You are a beautiful precious person. You are made and precious and worthy of love as you are. You have a lot of people who love and care about you.

Marcia Lucas watched a cut of Raiders of the Lost Ark & exclaimed “What about the girl?” In that cut, Marion was left tied to the stake & wasn’t seen again.
The scene on the steps was in the script but wasn’t shot. Within a couple weeks they picked up this scene at SF City Hall

Artificial intelligences do not undergo experiences, do not possess a body, do not feel joy or pain, do not mature through relationships, and do not know from within what love, work, friendship or responsibility mean. Nor do they have a moral conscience, since they do not judge good and evil, grasp the ultimate meaning of situations, or bear responsibility for consequences. They may imitate or even simulate, but they do not understand what they produce, for they lack the affective, relational, and spiritual perspective through which human beings grow in wisdom. #MagnificaHumanitas

Humanity, created by God in all its grandeur, is today facing a pivotal choice: either to construct a new Tower of Babel or to build the city in which God and humanity dwell together. In Jesus Christ, this humanity in its grandeur becomes the Way, the Truth and the Life, opening the path for each of us to grow toward fullness. #MagnificaHumanitas

The Great Replacement theory is the white supremacist rebranding of the Nazi ideologies that were central to Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf.
Never let this hate be normalized.
Always call it out.

On that AI Birds “short.”
The argument against gen-AI art can be “look at the errors.” They claim it’s pro-quality, but there are still little details that get missed that would drive real pro-artists insane not to fix.
I don’t think that’s my best argument.
5.
“But why would they not want to get that time back?”
Because for the artist, the time spent making the thing, is the value. The practice, the discipline, that’s where the reward is, not only the output.
It is a human experience, a journey that no shortcut can get you to.
