🧵Bitcoin as a Courtroom Evidentiary Standard.

We filed a comment with the federal Advisory Committee on Evidence Rules.
Our answer: Bitcoin.

The El Salvadoran government is pioneering the use of efficient, @opentimestamps based, Bitcoin time-stamping.
All governments should be doing this.
If you are archiving data, why aren't you time-stamping it?

Bitcoin's Computational Power vs. AI Infrastructure: @carlostoriello of @realSimpleProof puts Bitcoin's security in perspective: "Bitcoin consumes still something like over three times as much as all of the AI data centers all over the planet. Bitcoin is more powerful than Google, than Amazon, than all of the AI companies in the world combined." This level of security is why Simple Proof chose Bitcoin over other blockchains for protecting public records

What I love about this panel is it's basically about Stacy Scott sending some emails to Simple Proof, who timestamped the for a total cost of $12
As Stacy said, it was the easiest part of the election: “Why wouldn't you do this?”
If you have data, just timestamp it!

Yep, Bitcoin can be used for non-monetary things.
What's cool about OpenTimestamps is that it can verify a document was not altered, without storing the document on-chain. Thus it has nearly infinite verification density and doesn't crowd out transactions.
