In defence of the status quo, we are made to belief that asking for richer public space, safety for our children or a higher quality of live is 'Radical Activism'.
You are not a radical.

Nothing to see here but a planet literally on fire - & those who set it on fire are unwilling to take the smallest of steps to ban new fossil fuels let alone transition away from an economic model that puts profit before humanity & our planet. We need a waronwant.org/our-work/globa…

Heatwave in Europe
Mediterranean 5°C hotter than it should be
North Atlantic Ocean surface hotter than it has ever been.
Why are you not worried about this?
This is not weather.
This is shattering climate records
This is #ClimateChange
Very happy to have coauthored this meaningful report with @MazzucatoM @oamikheeva and @L__Macfarlane. Very fun to watch @CamdenCouncil continue taking this transformative financial vehicle forward - turning it into reality - to deliver equitable social policies for residents.

We can’t measure tomorrow's approaches by yesterday's standards.
#CommunityPower is working, but making it mainstream means rethinking how the system measures success.

🧵 Today we honor the legacy of labor unions & environmental justice groups who first forged the concept of #JustTransition. This approach seeks to phase out industries that harm workers & the planet while providing just pathways for workers to transition to other jobs.#MayDay

🤦♀️ How to tell your gazillions of followers you know nothing about what you're talking about in 1 tweet.
Degrowth is *exactly* about equitable economies providing decent living for all, while using far less resources, so as not to destroy our planet.

Good piece on BND! But, please, I'm begging my American friends, cast your gaze more internationally too ... there's a world of public banks to learn from o/s the hegemon.
As the banking system staggers toward disaster once more, we should look to the democratic model that North Dakota’s state-owned bank — the only in the continental US — provides. jacobin.com/2023/03/bank-nor…
Wonderful to be on an inspiring panel this morning with the great @econnaturalist & @ianguelovski exploring policy approaches to direct cities toward action that couples social justice with net zero aims

the most powerful climate report of the decade was published on monday, after 195 governments fought over the words in its summary for policymakers, and the only media allowed in the room just published its account of who lobbied for what 1/

Five things we've learned from UN climate report
1 - Overshoot is the key word
2 - Keep #fossilfuels in the ground
3 - The power is in our hands
4 - Our actions now will resonate for thousands of years
5 - It's now about the politics not just the science

BREAKING: The federal e-bike bill is BACK.
A new proposal would give Americans up to $1,500 off a new e-bike.
This bill is similar to its predecessor, which came tantalizingly close to passing last year. BUT there are some key differences.

Reading through the @IPCC_CH AR6 Synthesis Report. The choice of plain language to match the science is one many have been calling for for years - 'There is a rapidly closing window of opportunity to secure a liveable and sustainable future for all' ipcc.ch/report/sixth-assessm…
To me, this report shouts loudly that a collective dialogue amongst all is needed urgently. The sort of difficult discussions about the reality of our future that @jembendell called for in Deep Adaption is required for all to begin contemplating the future we want to build.
And once these collective discussions begin, communities should be empowered to make decisions together about their futures.
This publication outlines a model of 'co-productive policy design' as a methodology for deep collaboration and systems change 👇 jamandjustice-rjc.org/sites/…
The #greentransition is only possible (& worthwhile) if it ushers in the 'green good life' - improving daily living for all.
How do we achieve that future? Ask people how new infrastructures can be delivered to better their wellbeing & follow their lead! smartcitiesworld.net/citizen…
