Pleased to see my thoughts on why artificial turf should be avoided at all costs in garden designs in this months industry journal: #Prolandscaper @ProLandscaperUK @The_SGD (less pleased to see my mug shot!)

I don’t post on here often - but just in case anyone is wants to follow what our studio is up to - you’ll find us on Bluesky - we’re out of here
Agree - politicians - spend that public money on public transport (not just an HS2 line for London) - on regular buses, trains and existing infrastructure

If you widen that highway
you won’t reduce emissions
or congestion.
What you WILL do
is spend a lot of public money
to induce even more cars
emitting even more GHGs & pollution
in the same or worse congestion
with people still telling you to widen the highway.
Period.

The biggest, most existential issue facing our species is being totally ignored in the election debate. Today’s march to #RestoreNatureNow will be a celebration of nature but also an expression of our grief & anger - the lack of leadership is unforgivable theguardian.com/environment/…

SO, so many people marching to #RestoreNatureNow @RNNMarch
Whoever forms the next government must respect existence or expect resistance!

The silence on nature & climate during this election campaign is deadly. We’re a nation of nature lovers, yet our political leaders are driving its destruction. It doesn’t have to be this way. Nature doesn’t have a voice - you do. Use it to vote to #RestoreNatureNow #VoteGreen
RESTORE NATURE NOW!
If you can, join the March in London tomorrow at midday to March to Parliament square to demand UK politicians take immediate action here in the UK and globally to save the natural world.
#restorenaturenow #BiodiversityMatters #BiodiversityCrisis
And post 4th July, re-write to the newly elected MPs/MSPs again and again …..
See restorenaturenow.com for more info about the demands being made

If like us you can’t get to London, we urge you to write to your MPS, MSP candidates now to:
1. Give a pay rise for nature
2. Make polluters pay
3. Deliver more space for nature
4. put a right to a healthy environment in the law
5. Ensure fair and effective climate action

This is a great idea - in a time of the climate emergency and biodiversity crisis, we need to green our streets and provide people with a safe way of travelling through walking and cycling.
Work begins on the Argyle Street West Avenue on Monday, 13 May, with improvements to roads & pavements, a new cycle way, new trees and raingardens to make this part of Argyle Street more attractive and easier to get around for everyone who uses it 👉 ow.ly/XSNL50RycLz

Both imidacloprid (a neonic) and fipronil are now found in the large majority of English rivers. Our research shows that owners washing their hands after contact with pets is a significant contributor. Washing bedding or bathing dogs also contributes. sciencedirect.com/science/ar…

Our new research finds that spot-on flea treatments on pets are a major source of river contamination with potent insecticides. Also, owners hands are continually contaminated by contact with treated pets. Pls RT (1/2)

Yet another reason why we need to reduce artificial lights in our gardens and around our homes (not to mention street lights) - they might not be confusing the lights for the moon but it seems to be directly affecting their normal behaviour
Wholeheartedly agree - gardens should not be covered with impermeable material and should have at least 50% if not a lot more planting (real ones) connected directly to the soil.
