I am considering writing about what standard errors mean when you work with population level (not a sample) data. It is interesting the only proper reference I have found on this is @jmwooldridge et al onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/… from 2020 (!!). Any other references?

I asked Opus and Suno to turn my article on the "China shock" narrative into a song. It's a brave new world.

The theater was packed. When it was finished the audience just sat there as the credits rolled. Stillness. You know how rare that is for people to not jump up and start yammering or scrolling or move on to the next thing? There was stillness and awe, gratitude and sorrow and astonishment both with the film and this world we have allowed. This movie being slammed by reviewers is beyond comprehension. Anyone who is dragging this piece through the mud should get a brain scan or see it again as they must not have been paying attention. This is one of the most daring, original, provocative pieces of art I’ve seen and bravo to every person that laid a hand on it. I’d have given my right arm to be an extra in this movie (I’m right handed). This craft, like many other things nowadays, feels in peril. The systems at play encourage mass appeal above all else. Digger is a battle cry for art, for waking up, for demanding an actual attention span of your audience and for the miracle of having a point of view. To horrify, delight, wildly surprise repeatedly and inspire us to fight for our world before it’s too late is an incredible accomplishment. Don’t listen to rotten tomatoes. Find an actual person who saw this movie. Listen to them. Tomato tomaaato! Fuck that stupid nonsense percentage bullshit. It’s so dumb. Go see this movie. Thank you @diggerthemovie ! #diggerthemovie #diggerthemovie #film #art #wow

Real banger here. We often treat descriptive analysis as a petty chore you need go through to get to the real (causal) stuff. Gerring argues that not only is good description crucial, it’s arguably the greater challenge. Deciding how to characterize things appropriately can be more consequential and difficult than establishing that X is related to Y in a particular way. cambridge.org/core/journals/…
