Re: Christa Pike. My chief complaint about @JohnFetterman is how he destroyed the idea of “life without parole” that was supposed to obviate the death sentence in my native state.

The arrogance of the oligarchs is extraordinary. THEY WANT IT ALL. In this election, Musk and other billionaires will spend huge amounts of money to make sure that Congress works for them — not working families. We can beat them. Educate. Organize. Get your friends to vote.

BREAKING: DHS releases a bullet-point list of what they say are false claims about the shooting of a Venezuelan illegal alien in Austin, TX. They say claims that he was legal and had a valid work permit are false. Per DHS: “CLAIM: ICE refused to remove the bullet from the illegal alien’s body. FACT: This is false. ICE does not and would not advise, nor be the authority on, a medical procedure for an illegal alien at a hospital.  CLAIM: The illegal alien had a valid work permit. FACT: This is false. The illegal alien’s work permit expired in 2025. Furthermore, a work permit does NOT grant legal status. CLAIM: The illegal alien was ordered removed in absentia. FACT: Yes. This is why aliens must show up to their removal proceedings. Legal obligations do not end because someone’s address changed. CLAIM: This illegal alien is here legally. FACT: This is false. This person is in the U.S. illegally. He entered illegally under the Biden Administration. The illegal alien had no valid work permit, had no protective status, and had a final order of removal from a Department of Justice (DOJ) Immigration Judge. CLAIM: This illegal alien has received no pain medication. FACT: This is false. This illegal alien is receiving medical care around the clock, including pain medication. CLAIM: The illegal alien has been forced to sleep on the floor. FACT: This is false. This alien was released from the hospital and arrived at the detention facility just a few hours later, where he slept on a bed. Aliens in ICE custody receive a higher standard of living than most prisons that hold U.S. citizens. CLAIM: This illegal alien was indiscriminately targeted by ICE. FACT: This is false. This illegal alien was the subject of a targeted vehicle stop. What makes someone a target for immigration enforcement is whether or not they are illegally in the U.S. DHS Sec. Mullin statement: “Sanctuary politicians and the mainstream media have wasted no time in spreading lies about an ICE officer-involved shooting of an illegal alien in Austin, Texas,” said Secretary Markwayne Mullin. “Contrary to their claims, this person is an illegal alien who has no legal status to be here and has been given some of the best medical care he’s ever received in his life. No amount of smears and false narratives will slow down ICE from doing its job by removing dangerous illegal aliens from our communities and making America safe again. Sanctuary politicians may continue to shamelessly protect illegal aliens, but the Trump Administration will remain focused on protecting the American people.”

I am a firm believer that life comes with too many warning labels. Remember when families had like 8 kids so that 4 might survive to adulthood? We’ve made it too easy for the dumb to survive. Make Darwin Great Again!

Britain, your votes are needed or your children won’t get them.
Following today’s attack, we have taken the decision to cancel tomorrow’s Restore Britain campaigning session in Holborn and St Pancras. A donor has kindly offered to fund the delivery of those leaflets instead. Remarkably, we are now in the position where our campaigners can’t congregate in our capital city without the fear of being scalded with boiling liquid. Putting our members in harm’s way is not something the party is prepared to do. From next week, we will arrange private security for our campaigning events in this by-election. I am personally writing to the met police about how this has been handled, and how these violent thugs in ‘anti-racist’ groups are allowed to police themselves. Proscribing them as terrorist groups is looking increasingly justified. This country is in deep shit, and I have never felt more determined to restore it.

It's official! The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority Board of Commissioners voted unanimously, 6 to 0, to modify our existing naming policy, marking the first step toward renaming Nashville International Airport® in honor of Dolly Parton.

I had been at the company, 90 miles from Manhattan, since the start of the year. I’d be there until 2005. A selling point when I was hired was that they had never before had a layoff. Planning one for a Tuesday seemed ill-advised to me.

In my head: ‘Gee Mike, sorry to see you’re in here with these managers — jackasses, they really should postpone these layoffs until we know how bad things are. I just ducked in to see if it’s WW3.’ In the cubicles: “The National Mall is on fire.” Huh?

By the time they released us early, it seemed unlikely a random industrial park outside Philly was high on the target list after the World Trade Centet and the Pentagon.

Now that the second Pennsylvania death has been revealed, it is clear that Gov. Shapiro's press conference (& the media coverage) was misleading. 1. Gov. Shapiro used the term "unvaccinated" to describe the two. But neither child was eligible for the MMR vaccine. The boy died right after birth, and the girl at 6 weeks. 2. Gov. Shapiro stated that the deaths were preventable. This does not appear to be the case. All the facts are not known, but the best current evidence suggests the boy likely died from trauma from delivery or resuscitation, not measles. The girl had Amish Lethal Microcephaly, a condition that virtually always results in death in the first months of life. Calling her death “preventable” was misleading in that it strongly implied she would otherwise have survived infancy (and, again, she wouldn't have been vaccinated at that age.) When Gov. Shapiro mentioned two "unvaccinated" individuals whose deaths were "completely preventable," how many listeners thought one would be a newborn with a traumatic rupture of the spleen & the other a six-week-old with a severe genetic condition that's lethal in the first few months of life? The natural impression was that Gov. Shapiro was referring to two vaccine-eligible people who died from measles because they declined vaccination. Gov. Shapiro (and the media) should apologize & publicly correct the record. The public has lost trust in health officials & the press because of misleading announcements and news coverage. This incident has only heightened that loss of trust. youtube.com/watch?v=6hYU4TFx…

New IATA airport code for Nashville International Airport after it is renamed for Dolly Parton: DDD
At a place where Tennessee welcomes the world, it is fitting that BNA would bear @DollyParton’s name. Today, in partnership with @Fly_Nashville, we announced our intent to honor Tennessee’s favorite daughter and her indelible legacy. Link: tn.gov/governor/news/2026/8/…

I have trained in knife, empty hand, and knife disarms. What @ThresherKing says here is entirely correct - you should not even attempt a disarm unless you have no other options. If you have a firearm, you should keep shooting until you see the knives fall out of the perp's hands. The only thing I will criticize the cops were in this situation is letting themselves get within 21 ft of a nutcase with a knife. Anybody who has trained against a partner with a knife simulant knows that this is *far too close*. Unless there are civs behind the perp that make a shot unsafe, you should open fire sooner than that. Much sooner.
The comments are rife with morons who, having the benefit of watching this on a 4" screen, think they would have done a better job than people trained to deal with these scenarios. I was trained to disarm knife-bearing attackers. Some of the knife bearing attackers I trained with were actually formally trained to use knives to unalive people. At one point we spent 3 whole days (literally from 0830hrs to 2100hrs) drilling while some guy recorded us using a VHS-C handicam, then rewatching the footage, critiquing, evaluating, adjusting methods and scenarios, and redrilling. The inescapable conclusion after 3 days of knife drills? Even a spastic gelatinous mass of untrained chubbery had a 90% + chance of causing grievous bodily injury. (We had these cool marker knifes that left red and blue streaks anywhere they contacted.) 40% of those could be fatal when evaluated with respect to underlying structures such as arteries, airways, nerves, or organs. Do you know what our final decision at the end of 3 days was? If a knife wielding attacker presents even an minimally credible threat, magdump center mass, then go home and cry on your wife's perfect bosoms about how you had to kill someone while your kids ask what's wrong with daddy. Because you may live to regret having made a life or death decision, but it's more important that you live.
