🛠️Incident #03 - Practical Linux Troubleshooting
Step 1: Identify the full filesystem
df -h
Step 2: Find large directories
sudo du -xhd1 /var 2>/dev/null | sort -h
Step 3: Find large files
sudo find /var -xdev -type f -size +100M -ls
Step 4: Check system logs
sudo journalctl --disk-usage
✅Investigate first. Clean up only after confirming what's safe to remove.
Never blindly delete logs or application files!

• IP address → device identity
• DNS → converts name to IP
• TCP → reliable delivery
• UDP → fast delivery
• HTTP → web communication
• HTTPS → secure web communication
• Router → connects networks
• Switch → connects devices
• Firewall → controls traffic
• Ports → app-level entry points
Learn these first.
Cloud, DevOps, security, and backend
