A long bank holiday weekend - time to finally work through this box set and see what all this Tarkovsky fuss is about, starting with Ivan’s Childhood.

The one time I was star-struck working in film distribution was briefly meeting Alex Garland ahead of working on the UK release of Ex Machina. The new trailer for #Men looks fantastic.
With this, X and Nope, 2022 is shaping up as a great year for horror

Loved seeing Hellbender at #celluloidscreams. The team were a joy to work with on The Deeper You Dig, and their next film expands beautifully on their style with some incredible horror visuals, a strong mother/daughter storyline and a great soundtrack.

#LFF Day 11 brings us screenings of Benedetta, Neptune Frost, Petrov’s Flu, Memoria, Earwig and much more... theb.fi/3aG9Y4p
A Banquet - Outstanding UK horror feature debut from director Ruth Paxton. Beautifully shot, and wonderfully performed by a largely female cast with a genuine believability. My neck hairs stood up on more than one occasion. And a perfect ending. Don’t miss! 9/10 #lff
La Abuela - Paco Plaza delivers an effective slow-burn horror focusing on mid-20s model Susanna who has to take care of her grandmother following a brain haemorrhage. Not afraid to show the unpalatable sides of home care, La Abuela builds to well-earned creepy climax. 8/10 #LFF
Cannon Arm and the Arcade Quest - Enjoyable doc following a group of Danish arcade players supporting Kim Cannon in his quest to play Gyruss for 100 hours straight. Not really on the same circuitboard as the superior The King of Kong, but a worthy companion piece. 7/10 #LFF

Tickets are selling fast for the #LFF UK Premiere screenings of Apichatpong Weerasethakul's MEMORIA with Tilda Swinton.
London, Bristol & Edinburgh are now Sold Out. Limited tickets at Manchester, Sheffield, Belfast, Glasgow, Newcastle & Cardiff.
Titane - A genuinely hypnotic WTAF film unlike anything else out there, with notes of Cronenberg, Sono, Lynch and Tsukamoto. Incredible lead performances from Agatha Rouselle and Vincent London. Not a film designed for a consensus of opinion, but what a ride. 8/10 #lff
