The US just launched one AI front door to 29,000+ government websites. So I built one for Pakistan 🇵🇰 Ask in English, Urdu or Roman Urdu. It answers only from official govt sites, with sources. Shared it on LinkedIn, 1,000+ users in few hours 🤯 pakistangov.online

in lahore for a couple of days and thinking of throwing a small founder / ai mixer 👀 looking for a cool coffee shop, cafe, or event space that would be down to host a bunch of builders for an evening of ai, startups, and unhinged conversations. if you run a cafe, know a venue, or want to help make this happen, slide into my dms. otherwise, always down for coffee and nerding out about ai, agents, and whatever everyone’s building. lahore, let’s make it happen.

When I launched Ask Pakistan, it could search 52 government websites. Today I added 140 more 🎉 It now searches 192 official sites, with 11,849 pages and 1,879 PDFs behind every answer. Finding the right official page for something simple usually means ten open tabs and a broken link or two. That's the problem I'm trying to fix. Some of what's new: • Courts: Sindh, Peshawar and Balochistan High Courts, Federal Shariat Court, Wafaqi Mohtasib, Federal Tax Ombudsman • Police & safety: Islamabad, Karachi, Balochistan, AJK and GB Police, Motorway Police, Punjab Safe Cities, Rescue 1122, NDMA and PDMAs • Education & health: AIOU, NAVTTC, TEVTA, PMDC, DRAP, NIH, school education departments • Utilities: Pakistan Post, WASA Lahore, KWSC, WAPDA, NEPRA, OGRA, PTA • Business & tax: Pakistan Single Window, SMEDA, Board of Investment, Sindh Revenue Board, KP and Punjab Revenue Authorities • Overseas Pakistanis: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis Ask the way you'd ask a friend, in English, Urdu or Roman Urdu 💬 Every answer still links to the official page it came from, so you can double-check it yourself. It's still an independent project I'm building on my own. It isn't run by or connected to the government. I'm just trying to make official information easier to find 🇵🇰 Give it a try and tell me what's missing 🙌

met the IT minister @ShazaFK and some amazing people, walked them through how Ask Pakistan has been operating, some solid stats, and what this thing could turn into. everyone’s been super chill and welcoming. feels like we might actually be onto something here. we’re just getting started. 🇵🇰

islamabad, you guys actually showed up. 🚀 the response to my last post has been insane, so we’re making this happen. we’re getting a bunch of founders and builders in one room this thursday to talk ai, tech, startups and whatever else we’re all cooking. 📍 Pakistan Digital Authority office, Islamabad 🗓️ Thursday, 4 PM onwards it’s invite-only, so drop your details here: luma.com/6wb59hmz approvals will be sent out soon.

in islamabad for a couple of days. presented pakistangov.online to the super chill IT minister @ShazaFK and her amazing team. talked about how the government can be involved and how agentic ai can get shit done for people instead of making them run around offices for days. imagine getting 99.99% of government processes done in seconds. that’s the kind of future i want to build for pakistan. also, probably throwing a founders meetup / tech mixer while i’m here. need a venue + someone to help pull this off in the next couple of days. @nic_islamabad ? any cool tech company with space for a bunch of builders? slide into my dms. otherwise, down for coffee and unhinged conversations about ai and tech. only problem is this city everything is closed at 10 pm. absolute criminal behaviour. the weather is making up for it tho.

Big week ahead for pakistangov.online 👀 Imagine. You type "file my tax return" and an AI agent pulls your records, fills the forms, calculates the fee and submits it, with you approving every step. Agentic AI on top of official government systems. Where should it start? 1️⃣ HEC degree attestation 2️⃣ Tax filing with FBR 3️⃣ Passport / CNIC renewal 4️⃣ Something else Comment your number 👇

Day 3 of pakistangov.online: going viral means getting attacked 🇵🇰 First 3 days: • 480K+ requests served • 1,300+ attack requests blocked (3 DDoS attempts) • 10,900+ bot requests • 2 prompt injections reached the AI What got through: nothing. $0 lost.

It's been just over 24 hours since I shared pakistangov.online here, and I still can't believe these numbers 😅 • 7,500+ visits • 71 countries • 1,700+ people asked a question • 5,000+ answers, every one with an official source • About a third of the traffic came from outside Pakistan The top countries after Pakistan are the USA, UAE, UK, Germany, Canada and Saudi Arabia. Overseas Pakistanis are clearly struggling with the same things we are. And what are people asking? Not fancy stuff. Passports, CNIC and tax, again and again. The basics are what everyone finds hardest to get a straight answer on. People are also spending around 2 minutes on the site, which tells me they're actually reading the answers and not just clicking around. This is still step one. Right now it only answers questions. The goal is that you say "renew my passport" and it actually gets done for you. Thank you to everyone who tried it, shared it and told me where it broke. Keep it coming. Try it: pakistangov.online (Independent project, not a government website) #Pakistan #AI #GovTech #BuildInPublic

A few notes: • Independent project, not a government site • First version took a few hours with AI coding tools • Next step: agentic AI that helps you finish the task, not just find the info Tell me where it gets things wrong 🙏

So I tried validating @heyclicky by @FarzaTV to see if it should've made it into the YC Spring batch, and I scored it with the tool I've been building. It scored an 88 for @ycombinator , a strong fit. 😄 The last couple of days have been some of my favorite building yet. I got to chat with partners from YC and a16z and pulled their feedback straight in. The big push was making the scoring ruthless, because these programs take well under 1% of applicants, so I rebuilt it to judge like a real gatekeeper instead of a generous one. The early users have been getting partner-level analysis on their ideas that they said they couldn't find anywhere else. I've also been maturing the content bank so it scores ideas genuinely close to how these partners would, and it's gotten scarily accurate. My favorite new feature though: onboarding used to mean answering a bunch of questions. Now you just drop your website link or pitch deck and it reads everything and fills it out for you. Watching it work the first time genuinely made me smile. Not officially launched yet, but if you're applying to YC, a16z, Antler or anywhere this cycle and want an honest read on where you stand, comment or DM me and I'll send you the link.

I got rejected by YC last batch. So I spent weeks figuring out what their partners actually select for. Here's what I found. got the rejection, sat with it for a bit, then decided to actually understand what happened instead of just guessing. read 100+ talks, essays and interviews from partners at YC, a16z and Antler. not the polished public advice, the patterns in how they talk about companies they funded vs passed on. a few things that genuinely surprised me: the "why now" question matters way more than I realized. partners aren't just asking if the market is big, they're asking why this is the exact moment this becomes possible. my application basically skipped this. most do. market-founder fit gets judged harder than founder pedigree. it's not enough to be impressive, they want to know why YOU specifically are the person to build THIS specific thing. a strong founder on the wrong problem scores worse than you'd think. this one stung because I think it was part of why I got passed. a huge TAM number can actually hurt you. saying "it's a $50B market" reads as lazy if you can't show you understand the entrenched players and why the market's growing right now. teams strong on one side of a two-sided problem still get dinged. building at the intersection of two domains, like healthcare and AI, being great at one and weak on the other caps you lower than you'd expect. honestly the rejection was the best thing that could've happened because it forced me to actually learn this. happy to go deeper on any of these in the comments. and if you got rejected too, would love to hear what you think they were really reacting to.
