“Within this assessment, the red team (also referred to as ‘the team’) gained initial access through a web shell left from a third party’s previous security assessment.” 💀 Yikes.
It’s always awesome when we (@CISAGov) gets to release a red team report that we worked on, and today is another one of those days! Go check out our latest report and hopefully you can apply some of the same lessons to your environment! cisa.gov/news-events/cyberse…

Wait, Temu (the infamous online sale app) was abusing CVE-2023-20963 on Android devices until they caught the developer and removed it? I want full analysis for that case alone!

Why would you need to cut the cable? Just unplug them.
Elon Musk deals with can't-do attitude engineers and Twitter's Sacramento server farm on Christmas Eve. Based AF!

Look, I’m pretty anti-cop, anti prison, anti-establishment. But while I live in a world teetering on fascism, I’m gonna cast my vote for the woman who put rapists in jail, not the fascist guy who has raped women.

This strange tweet got >25k retweets. The author sounds confident, and he uses lots of hex and jargon. There are red flags though... like what's up with the DEI stuff, and who says "stack trace dump"? Let's take a closer look... 🧵1/n

I am one again reminding people that if you are creating a Windows 11 installer, use Rufus - You can bypass the RAM, Secure Boot and TPM requirements - You can remove the requirement for a Microsoft account - Disable automatic encryption - Auto-create account and more

Lot of sea change right now in the networking community. Lots of opportunity. Re-center. Figure out what makes networking exciting in the first place, and examine what's on the horizon with fresh eyes. I also want to give a big, big shout out to @etherealmind. One of the few people I can point at and say "This person literally changed my life for the better." I hope you find peace, my friend.

That time @nickrusso42518 and I entered a hackathon and got second place. Good times.

Nick is gone. How can that be?  Over the course of our friendship we shared book recommendations, talked about politics, faith, family, parenting, and a little about networking.  I even bought him some socks once as a semi-joke.   He was continually curious, willing to explore ideas foreign to him.  He had a wonderful self-deprecating humor about his quirks. (Raw onions anyone?) He was a content generating machine with a level of discipline most of us will never obtain (or desire). I wonder if he was as changed by our interactions as I was? He would likely argue with me but I am a better person for having known him. I think (hope) he knew how much I deeply cared for him and his family. Rest easy friend.
I have some terrible news but @nickrusso42518 has passed away I considered him a friend and we always joked about a Cisco Live selfie with him mean mugging and my big smile. Brilliant brilliant man lost too soon Nicholas Russo Obituary - Bel Air, MD (dignitymemorial.com)

Way too soon 😭💔 I already miss you, brother. Wish we would have met one last time, but Covid came in the way. You changed the lives of so many in this industry. I hope we meet again one day. RIP 🙏

The passing of @nickrusso42518 really has me thinking about how much I love this NetEng community. Many of you experienced my hugs and arm-around-shoulder hug-things at CL this year - and now you know why. Wish I had gotten the chance to meet Nick in person to give him one. ❤️

just a friendly PSA your likes aren't really "private" now. if you add a /likes after someone's profile URL you can still see them because they weren't actually made secure, the button was just removed lmfao
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This contains information that is outdated information and potentially misleading. Therefore a community note is needed. At the time this was posted it was true, since been fixed and now adding /likes to a profile URL redirects to you the main profile page. Example: x.com/elonmusk/likes

Interesting change in twitter ads. I cannot block the advertiser directly from the ad itself anymore, I can only say “not interested in this ad” So now I am forced to click through to the advertisers account and block there.
